I really wanted to like the place but it was very underwhelming. Had the nato mushrooms, which were quite good, and the sichuan monkfish which was mediocore at best - rubbery texture, not flavourful, and an overall sad business of a dish. Didn't have dessert because the damage was already too steep (at 25 quid for two smallish dishes and a bowl of rice) and didn't want to take the risk of being further underwhelmed.
Sad, they really looked like a promise based on their insta page.

(Review of their current residency at Sir Colin Campbell, Kilburn). One of the best meals in a long time, full of umami and lovely textures throughout.  Set in a cosy 18 cover upstairs room of a classic Kilburn Irish pub each dish brought smile upon smile.  The Iberian Pork Katsu Sando has been called London's best sandwich by some, and it would be a hard task to disclaim this.  The tender and flavourful pork lies in a sweet and salty toasted brioche sandwich.  The Ox Cheek Quesadilla was deep in flavour with a crispy yet chewy rice paper wrap.  Sichuan style Monkfish came with a beautiful almond chilli paste which added another depth to the beautifully balanced chilli and Sichuan pepper broth.  Aged Iberian Pork was perfectly paired with barley, Chinese leaf and a morish miso sauce.  The excellent meal ended with one of the best ice cream desserts ever that was silky smooth, rich yet light, flavoured with pumpkin and thyme and topped with crispy rice flour balls.  It's a shame TaTa will be leaving Kilburn in a few months but if the new permanent restaurant is as good as this, that's no bad thing.  If there was ever a reason to go to Kilburn, TaTa is one of the strongest ones.
