Lovely neighborhood spot to have a quiet Italian meal with great portions, prices & staff

We had a lovely late night dinner at Rosella for my birthday. The aubergine parm was amazing with a glass of primitivo. Portions are generous with pasta, which makes it a great value. The staff was so lovely and attentive. Save room to treat yourself to the tiramisu and a glass of meloncello!

If you want incredibly good Italian, then this is the place to come. Located in North West London, a few minutes walk from Kentish Town Station.  It's a very buzzy and friendly local restaurant, where tables spilled outside on a warm summer's day.  The owner of the restaurant, Luca, is very hands on, taking time to serve and talk to customers, as well as sorting out take-aways!  

You could do no better than to have the specials of the day which are written on the blackboard above the open kitchen.  

I love seafood and linguine so when I saw the starter of Linguine al Granchio, I chose that immediately, a very nice clean dish of crab and linguine, with a spicy kick, I was satisfied!  My partner chose the tartuffo antipasto, a lovely Italian antipasto with truffle, which he also enjoyed.

For mains I chose another of my favourite meats, the Lambata d'Agnello. The succulent and tender pan fried lamb came on a bed of delicious sauteed potatoes and perfectly steamed broccoli and carrots.  My partner had the Merluzzo al forno, baked cod on a bed of spinach accompanied with boiled potatoes and carrots.

For dessert, I decided to try the avocado sorbet, with the vanilla and choc chip gelato.  The avocado made the sorbet very, very creamy, so the texture was much more ice creamy than a sorbet, but it was definitely very more-ish and you cannot go wrong with a vanilla ice cream with choc chip, just perfect.

The other dessert we tried was the Classic Affogato which was a vanilla gelato topped with hot espresso.  A good hot and cold dessert, made interesting by pouring the espresso on the ice cream yourself.

To finish off, we were given a meloncello, a delicious liqueur with a refreshig taste of melons.

We enjoyed, with our meal, the light and fruity Pinot Grigio Rose.

The ambiance is very nice with an open kitchen and the pizza guy, Alex, happily making pizzas next to the open kitchen. The waitress who served us was also very cheerful and helpful explaining the menu.  It is nice to see staff happy in their work which creates a much nicer environment to dine in,

Luca was very friendly and explained about the family photos lining one wall, and I recognised Mia Farrow in one, and whom his father met.  He also told us the food produce was from his family farm in Italy. 

We had a lovely evening, enjoying good food, and left merrily with our bellies very full. Definitely will return to try their pizzas next time.

A surprisingly delicious and hidden local gem between Kentish Town and Gospel Oak stations - look for it tucked into a row of shops including a pharmacy and a hair salon. It's generally easy to miss, but lately I've found that the crowd spills onto the street during dinner time. 

I went with my parents on their first night in London, as they wanted to try a place near my new flat that would also allow them to get in and out fairly easily (oh, jetlag...). My father got a pizza, which was unexpectedly good - thin crust, slightly chewy and slightly burnt. Just the way we like it. My mom and I both got a linguine marinara with seafood. The seafood was definitely fresh and tasty, though the sauce was a bit spicy. I liked it, but it was too hot for my mom to eat. 

The only downside here was the staff. They were extremely nice, but very very slow. We asked for the bill three or four times and had to keep asking for more water. The slow service meant our meal took longer than desired, but it was still very very good. 

With a bottle of wine, two starters, three mains and a dessert the bill came to about 35 GBP - a bargain! I believe during the week they have a lunchtime deal for 6 GBP of any pizza or pasta plus a soft drink.

One of our friends was leaving to California and asked that we join them at this lovely little restaurant near them home near Kentish Town stations.  I have to admit I didnt think anything of this place when I was walking to the restaurant.  When you get into the restaurant though, its super cute and family run.  

Since our friends knew the owners so well, they were able to order some special items including appetizers : chicken livers on toast, chicken pate, and bruschetta.  All three were super delicious and presented beautifully.

We ordered a few bottles of wine, one of which was the unoaked Chardonnay and a red wine that the family produced.  Both were quite tasty and light.  

We ordered two pizzas (pepperoni, pepperoni with anchovies and olives), one pasta bolognese -- they were delicoius!  The other mains we ordered were the specials : lamb with broccolini and mashed potatoes which was decent and then the tuna steak, which unfortunately was overcooked.  

We ordered meloncellos, tiramisu and a dark chocolate mousse, which were awesome. Tiramisu especially.

With everything included it was about £60 per couple, which given how much we ate, I think was pretty good...just wish they took the tuna off the bill....

This is a great family run gem on Highgate road in Kentish town. We regularly visit at lunchtime for the £6 deal which includes a pizza/pasta dish and a drink, excellent value! If there's a big group of us we'll ring in advance to cut waiting time once we arrive as it can be pretty busy. Highly recommended!

I visited this place on New Year's Eve with three friends. The evening started out fine - surprisingly good food for the price - but things fell apart, badly, towards the end.

The rushed waiter came by to take our order for dessert and coffee while half the table was outside smoking, then came back about 4 minutes later when there was still only three at the table. We had been discussing which dessert to get - I was really looking forward to the panna cotta on the basis of the earlier food - but not all of us were present, so we couldn't order yet.

Next thing we knew, the waiter dropped the bill on the table while running past, ignoring us trying to get him back. When we finally did get his attention, he outright lied: he said the kitchen was closed, despite other tables still being in the middle of their main courses.

The moment the knife was really twisted, however, was when he offered the table behind us dessert while we were still waiting for someone to come around with the card machine.

I have never been treated worse at a restaurant. It was easily the worst dining experience of the whole year - it completely overshadowed anything good about the food.

If they can't deliver service to the tables, they should serve fewer tables, not kick people out.

This is a genuine Italian restaurant with great food and even better pricing it's great for lunch or an evening meal I had the pasta and it was amazing highly recommended our office is in love with this place.

Really nice place, and an unexpected gem on a busy stretch of Highgate road. We had a really good meal there (took a friend who's called 'Rossella' there. The food is very good, and reasonably priced. Nothing imaginative, but perfectly good standard Italian. We got free shots of 'Meloncello'  apparently something that the chef's grandmother used to make, and my 3 year old son got a free scoop of ice cream from the waiter. All in all, a very pleasant meal, very close to home. I really hope this restaurant does well!
