We were going to a comedy show nearby and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat so we stopped by this pub. Oaka At The Mansion offers a Thai menu with traditional dishes including curries, stir fry, noodles, etc. You order & pay at the bar, and they bring everything out to you when it's ready.

I landed on the Cashew Nut chicken and my husband got the Sea Bass Sweet Chili. The portions of both dishes were pretty large. The sea bass was more flavorful with a nice sticky sweet, spicy, tangy sauce. The chicken in my dish tasted off and didn't have much flavor but the veggies with rice was not bad.

This place seems to be pretty busy. We got there at a decent time because there were a big slew of people who came in after us. There were may people coming in for taking out orders as well. All to say, it might take time to get food / drinks. Seems like a locals spot!

The spot is absolutely the tits! It's delicious!!! Mind you, hella spicy. They have a chill lunch special 13.95 for an entree and appetizer! I definitely recommend coming here if you want proper Thai food. Staff was super nice and welcoming, took us in 10 mins before lunch special was over.

Went to this bar two nights in a row for a drink and a small bite. The first night, we had an IPA which we did not enjoy, but we learned on our second night and had the most incredible cider! Both nights, we had the Thai fries. 

Now, let me tell you about these fries...they are the most delicious nuggets of joy I have encountered. They're like the log cut fries I used to get at the grocery when I was a growing up, but mini! Honestly, each fry is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Also, the seasoning is perfect and the sweet chili sauce is a great dipping companion.

Not only do they have an extensive drink collection and delicious snacks, the staff is super friendly and kind! Super enjoyable experience!

Delicious food and lovely service. We had the pad Thai, sticky rice and dim sum. Very quick service we got our food maybe 10 minutes after we ordered.

Full of mice running around , rude staff . The management were drunk and they care less about customers. 
They were playing loud music . And drinking alcohol in front of customers. Requesting them to put music down they refused . Chef changed and food is not good as it used to be

What an awesome find! I was actually sat here shaking my head with sheer disbelief that a nobody such as me was lucky enough to be eating food this good!  We had the Vegetarian Gap glam platter for two and it was probably the single best food that I have had all year. Yes that good!

Then add to all this deliciousness the fact that this restaraunt/bar is owned by Oakham, an excellent brewery. How could I not love this place?! Had a couple of their fine beers and they were both in great condition

It's a classy venue too! I unreservedly recommend Oaka to the hungry people of yelp!

I am busy preparing to leave for my honeymoon today, but we had such an extraordinary experience that I had to take a break from laundry, packing and cleaning to get a review out. When I checked-in last night, I noticed that Oaka only had one review. 

My husband is a pub geek, which means that I am now a pub geek by marriage. We went on a mid-week pub crawl in Kennington last night, and as we left the house, I was mentioning my hunger. Chris recalled that Oaka (our second stop on the tour) had food, so on the way to Kennington, we looked up the menu online. We didn't even get to the mains, and had already decided on several things from the bar menu (Gap glam) that we wanted. 

As we were on a pub crawl, we started off with a pint. The selection was vast. Our usual trend is for Chris to select two and let me try them and decide which I'd like. Usually he prefers the other one, so it works out. I chose the JHB as my favourite, and really enjoyed it. One thing to note on this section is that Oaka does 1/3 (such a cute little baby glass) and 2/3 pints. 

We ordered the Vegetarian Gap glam platter for two, which came with crispy-spiced aubergines, tempura vegetables, thai spring rolls and curried pumpkin gyoza. Two sauces came on the side for dipping - a sweet chili sauce with peanuts and a wasabi soy sauce. We also got an order of thai fries. Everything was very good. Crazy good. When we were done eating (everything was gone) we were sad that there wasn't more. We were full, but still wanted more. I think that says something. 

Can't wait to go back. But right now... I better get back to honeymoon prep!

A colleague reserved an area here for an informal launch of her new book and I went along to support her. It's really close to Kennington tube station on the main road and I think there are lots of buses that stop nearby too.

It's a really great space with comfortable but stylish furniture and decor and a mixture of high and low tables. The music was the right volume to give it a good atmosphere but without being so loud we couldn't talk. The staff were great and really friendly. They have craft beers from their brewery in Peterborough and they even named a beer after the book which was being launched! 

We did a raffle and they were happy to help with point glasses and a champagne bucket when we needed something to put money and the raffle tickets into for the draw.

I didn't eat there but the food looked fantastic. I might have to go back to try it out one day soon!

We found this place by accident after having a beer in the pub next door and looking for somewhere to eat. Oaka is a Pan Asian restaurant in the best way. Attentive staff welcomed us (on both visits) and showed us to a table right away. There's a range of offerings from snacking dishes to set menus and main courses. Everything we had was great. Pad cha seafood for example was perfectly cooked with plenty of seafood and fish. Seasonings and flavours well balanced and portion sizes ample. Crispy spiced aubergines were a perfect snack to start with.  On a second visit I sampled a classic green thai curry which was one of the best and featured thai pea aubergines which I rarely find at other places. 

Ambience just right with a dark wood interior slightly clubby but chill vibe and thankfully not too loud. Hit the spot on all the important points, food quality, ambience, service and price which was very reasonable therefore a five star experience as the other three reviewers have noted.

Great lunch, great atmosphere, great people. Came in for lunch on our way to Oxford for the day and was pleasantly surprised at the tasty offering for lunch. This place is down the street from where my aunt lives and when we are back to visit, we will definitely stop here again.  I had the curry with chicken which was tasty, but not that spicy (I think the UK tongue is milder than most so I imagine they don't really do spicy food a lot). However, it was a good size and was quite satisfying. My beau had the crispy duck wrap and thought it was tasty. The side salad was a bit small and slightly unappealing (iceberg lettuce), but worked well as a palate cleanser.  

The price was very reasonable for the flavor, amount, and variety of food.
