Our evening at the House of Gods Hotel was amazing from start to finish. The staff were genuinely lovely and incredibly attentive, making sure every detail was perfect. We loved the setup and theme of the hotel—it has a unique, intimate atmosphere with its darker hallways, which really adds to the allure and character of the place.

The extra touches really stood out—especially the milk and cookies, which were a delightful treat, and the breakfast hampers, which were a perfect way to start the day. We thoroughly enjoyed the decadent ambiance, and the espresso martinis were absolutely delicious.

We stayed in a cabin room, which we loved. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in the room added to the overall experience. We were thoroughly impressed with everything and can’t wait to return. House of Gods is a hidden gem, and we’re already looking forward to our next stay!

We stayed here as received a voucher for the Famous package. We originally booked a cabin room and then paid £40 to upgrade to a 4 poster. The room size was shockingly small, so I dread to think how much smaller the cabin would have been. The hotel is dark and felt like a basement. It didn't feel clean  we found hairs in the bed. There was no storage space and with the limited space this made it worse. There were no windows in the bedrooms nor bathroom, so there was an awful drain smell. The Famous package included milk and cookies which came with sweets. The breakfast was a small hamper with a bagel and orange juice. Not enough to fill you for the morning. Location was good as only 10 minute walk into the centre, however we wouldn't return and definitely do not think it is value for money.

Me and my wife booked this quaint little hotel in Edinburgh just after a gretna elopement 😉.
Almost smack bang in the centre, everything to see in the city is at your feet! The prices are within local competition although I feel this hotel offers more in terms of service and character.
We were first pleased by the classy dark red ambience of lighting with old style decor. We were greeted with a polite and very helpful welcoming from Ryan who offered to take our bags to our room while we enjoyed a cocktail before checking in.
The rooms are small but more than suffice for a couple. Everything has been thought of when it comes to the rooms, there's a light switch for every mood you wish.
The coffee machine behind the mirror etc is a great idea! The bed is very comfortable and the shower worked as expected.
A very nice touch with a soft wall soundproofing. We feel it's like being in a ships cabin and just live the character!
Our stay was thoroughly enjoyed throughout thank you Ryan for being so hospitable! Thank you to all other staff that gave us an enjoyable experience whilst with you!

What a great spot! Perfect service from start to finish- thanks especially to Murray at the desk and Jake at the bar! It's a bit like staying on an old and very well appointed ship. Yes the rooms are small, but who is spending that much time in their hotel room on a city vacation??? The bed was very comfortable, there were plenty of outlets in the right places, and everything was spotless. Those things are great to have, but you can find them at any mid-range hotel. What sets this place apart is the service. NEXT LEVEL. We felt so welcome from the very first minute, and by day two, it was as if we were staying at the home of good friends who anticipated and catered to every need. It's the best hotel service I have experienced in years, even at places 3x this price point. Bravo, House of Gods Edinburgh! We will be back!

We couldn’t wait for our house of gods stay however I think the hotel is overhyped if I’m totally honest , the room was tiny so cramped and roasting hot as there is no window ! The decor I must say is beautiful however. The curtain was hanging off slightly on the bed which wasn’t ideal & I didn’t find the bed overly comfortable. The little quirks in the room are nice though. Our £10 bar tab voucher wasn’t taken off during our stay and I had to email to rectify this post stay, same with some juice that we requested but they had no stock we were charged for but obviously didn’t get , granted this was also rectified promptly. I wanted to love this hotel but unfortunately I was just a little bit disappointed and underwhelmed.
