Came here to celebrate a friend and opted for their tasting menu and was thoroughly impressed with the meal from start to finish.

First of all, the city views from the outer tables is remarkable, especially if you are seated by the water side. They have a diverse and unique selection of wines from all over the world and recommended an excellent orange wine (my favourite kind, that most restaurants do not carry) from the South of Italy that we enjoyed chilled throughout the meal.

The presentation, flavour, and simplicity of each dish make for a memorable, high-caliber Michelin star dining experience. Would recommend taking your partner, family, friends, and even work clients for a dining experience they won't forget.

Starting off with the positives, the interior of Don Alfonso was beautiful. Lovely views and very lovely decor. I thought the service was also very good. Made us feel special. I came here last May for a celebration of getting a new job. They were very nice and provided me a little dessert at the end that said congratulations. The food was made beautifully and looked like works of art. However, the taste was a little bit lacking. The pink thing with the eel gelato tasted a bit like spam meat and the pairing of those two things together is very strange. The beef was good though! The pastas were way over salted. There was one particular pasta where we couldn’t even finish without drinking loads of water. And then finally, the last course was not done well whatsoever. The lobster was hard and cold. The pork was also really hard. Overall I’d say good experience but mediocre food.

The most memorable part of this meal was the bread and truffle butter & the views. If you want to guarantee a view, make sure to book the dining room - I made the mistake of booking the lounge & didn't really get to experience the views of the harbour as much as I wanted to. The staff were accommodating and allowed us to order the tasting menu even though it was only available with the standard seating (not lounge). However, I was pretty disappointed in the tasting menu for the price. There were some great dishes but I didn't expect to dislike any... the taste of some of the dishes were not as great compared to some other restaurants of similar calibre. The "eel gelato" is a confusing concept to me and flavour profile was all over the place and is likely not for everyone. It was a bit tough for my friend & I to even finish the dish (understand it's not for everyone!). The pasta & appetizer dishes were great and unique though and they were all plated beautifully. It was a great experience and being able to see the chefs work in the background was a bonus but overall the meal was almost $500 per person (drinks & tip included) and I was expected to be blown away for that price.

Absolutely fantastic and amazing experience. One of the best restaurants I've been to hands down. The service was impeccable and the food was amazingly delicious. They tended to our every need and catered to our requests to the best of their ability. The food was freshly made, cooked to perfection (for the ones that was cooked), and they really focused on the balance of the flavors along with the natural taste of the ingredients. I see many people have mentioned that the portion was lacking, but that was not the case at all. They were also generous with gifts as it was for a special occasion, and the atmosphere was just fantastic.

They're truly a well-deserved Michelin star restaurant. I would highly recommend Don Alfonso, and would definitely come back for another visit!
