Someone gave this place a 1 Star, and I honestly just think they needed a hug. 

We spent a good bit of time researching places to find something that was authentically French cuisine, not crazy priced, and hopefully a local favorite. We lucked out on all 3 finding this place. 

A very historied place, Comptoir stands out for its beautiful decor and good balance of both a steakhouse & a late night haunt. Not to play on stereotypes too much, but I did witness Ratatouille's cousin scampering around the restaurant while onlookers nearby smoked cigarettes semi-inside the restaurant. Welcome to Paris! 

The service was helpful and pretty fast in getting everything out. They also were helpful in guiding us around the menu as we were struggling on translating some items. 

We ordered the steak with chimichurri and the Duck Confit; neither disappointed! This was my first time trying duck confit and I'm afraid it set quite the high standard. Duck was slow brined to perfection, and had a really nice crispy skin all around. Their potatoes were also pretty delicious; little gold coins cut almost as thin as a potato chip, but still with a warm soft inside. 

As for critiques, I really have none. If you are in this neck of the woods and are looking for an authentic experience that wont break the bank, I highly recommend you stop by Comptoir and give them a shot.

Good food and a great vibe. For it being close to some of the tourist attractions it felt very local. The service was great and the interior is a definitie vibe. I tried the dish of the day which was a steal with chimmicurri and potatoes it was delicious. My partner had the duck confit and that was also very good and juicy. Overall if you are looking for a quick bit after seeing the Arc de triomphe or Eiffel Tower and are wanting some good French food that does not break the bank definitely check this place out.

We went because it was a Rick Steve's rec off the Champs. The atmosphere and service were awesome, but the food was just so/so.  It was probably our least favorite place we ate at in Paris. I honestly don't know if it was any better than the tourist spots on the Champs.  I would say Rick was wrong on this one.  Don't go out of your way to eat here.

Pretty good. Had a bottle of wine for lunch. Also had some really flat chicken. 
All in all a good experience, the wait staff was very friendly.

Cómptoir de l'arc is one of the best restaurants we have found here in Paris. 

Croque monsieur and the hamburger were wonderful.  Staff was very attentive and friendly.  

We will return in this visit.

We asked for tap waiter the waitress said she didn't know what that was and brought us a bottle that ended up costing 6 euros. For a bottle of water! Then I ordered hot tea with lemon and that was also 6 euros. ridiculous markup
Fish was bland and the steak was also bland and over cooked. The fries were good.

We were looking for a non-touristy place to have a bite between visiting the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. This was a refreshing find! Though it was at peak lunch time, we were seated immediately. Seating is intimate, and by that I mean it was close quarters but in that "Isn't this tres Parisian?" delightful sort of way! We were surrounded by business people on lunch break. The staff was efficient and friendly. Our teenage daughter had a cheeseburger, and my husband and I both had salads, which were delicious. Like, really delicious and I'm still thinking about the gravlax I had. Parfait!

Ate at this restaurant near the Arc de Triomphe 14 years ago & again 2 weeks ago.  The food, especially the beef tartare, is still excellent!  The staff is very friendly, they welcome tourists & you will find locals, including businessmen & women, at lunchtime.  Prices are reasonable considering it is Paris. Highly recommend!

I have mixed feelings about this place.

Le Comptoir is reasonable for its location, and as such it is always busy (be sure to get there right at noon). The food ranges from awful to very good, and the service can be top notch or inadequate, though it is always rushed.

I've had an excellent experience here, and a horrible one. The one time I had the tuna steak special on the terrace, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. It arrived quickly and the sesame teriyaki sauce hit the spot.

The second time, inside, I had veal and potatoes which wasn't bad, but just that. The salad that came with was my favorite part of the dish, as the lettuce was fresh and the sauce tangy. I then ordered a cheese plate to polish off the meal, and it was the worst I've had in Paris. To top things off, the credit card machine wasn't working, and the waiter insinuated that the problem was with my card and my colleague's card, not his machine (strange, as I had paid with that same card the last time I dined there, and my colleague's had been working just fine earlier that day...)

This is a great place for food if you're shopping or sightseeing on the Champs Elysee. My family of four came here after shopping at the LV store and it was a 5 minute walk. The place was pretty busy with locals even though it was a weekday evening but we managed to get a table immediately. We ordered the steak, duck confit, cheeseburger and grilled chicken. Everything tasted great, the food came super promptly, the service was good and the price was reasonable for Paris. I would highly recommend and would come here again!
