This restaurant sneakily charged us 2 euros PER PERSON for explaining the menu in English. He did not warn us about the surcharge, or we would have told him to just speak to us in French.

We received the bill and there were 6 euros. When we asked, he said it was for English recommendation. WTF? He did not mention any surcharge when we arrived, and this is not standard practice (no other restaurant in France has ever charged this to me).

He did not charge the fourth person in our group, who spoke French. 

It is basically a tourist tax. Do NOT go to this restaurant, just on principle! If you don't like English, then speak French only! We don't mind! We do mind getting sneak attacked like that.

Excellent.  A simple menu that the chef selects daily.  Everything is fresh and perfectly cooked with wonderful flavors.  The chef selected a perfect wine to accompany.
