Our family has been coming to La Fresque for the past 10 years--each year when we return to Paris for a month, we eat at La Fresque at least 3 times a week. We love good unpretentious French cuisine at an affordable price that has great value and La Fresque hits it every time.

Their lunch menu at 20 euros include an appy and a main or main and dessert. For the appy, there is always a choice of 5 different things and at least 4 to 5 for the main and 4 to 5 choices for dessert.
This week, we have already been 3 times for lunch and a sample of what we had:
apples...bulots; home made gnocchi with cream sauce; quail with morel mushrooms; herring and mackerel in a curry sauce.

mains....faux filet of beef (steak) with pepper sauce with scalloped potatoes; pork tenderloin with a mango sauce with braised leek and fennel; duck breast with a side of sweet potato puree; beef tartare with roasted potatoes and salad.

Everything we have had this week have been absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Steaks and duck breast are not overcooked and so flavourful.

A glass of very good wine is only 3 euros and a house bottle is 12 euros.

Service is always efficient and friendly at La Fresque and they will never rush you for your table. There is a choice of a table outside of inside and you can people watch during your meal since the restaurant is across from Les Halles shopping center with pedestrian walkway only.

We love eating at La Fresque and you get excellent value for home cooked French food that is a good portion.   We will be returning again in a few days for more great dinners and lunches.

Our group of 11 was looking for real French food.  We found this place and it didn't disappoint.  Menu is small and there is no English menu so we figured it was legit.  The staff spoke some English, but not a lot--just enough to get by.

Everything was delicious.  Service was great (by French standards).   Prices were very reasonable, but then again I live in CA so I'm easily amazed when it comes to pricing. 

Would definitely come back.

When in Paris, don't miss the opportunity to have a great, great meal, at this unassuming restaurant in the beautiful Marais!! Delicious menu (I've tried many dishes over the years) and excellent service. Don't miss it

Food was good, hence 2stars, but service by one killed it all for the  rest. The second waiter was clearly working harder and pulling his weight, but it's too much for he alone to handle and do.
First Waiter, FW, did not welcome us, and we had to ask for seats. He did come to take our order, but when we were not ready, as we are tourist and had to translate French, he did not offer any help, nor did he come back. Second waiter, SW, had to pretty much do the rest for the rest of the evening, but of course that was not the end. When it was time to pay, FW, was taking payment from an adjacent table, and I clearly made eye contact with my tab and card in hand, and he walked off. SW, with plates in hand, had to tell FW to take payment, and he came back and rudely asked, "Want to pay?," took payment and never said anything else; no thanks for our patronage, no questions of the quality of food, no cares for whether he was working or not.
Of my entire week here, I almost thought the saying that the "French are rude" was no longer, but FW reaffirmed it.  C'est la vie.

Love this place!  Husband and I came here pretty late, around 9, due to the taxi / uber strike, our metro was delayed 6 hours so we were famished and saw this place right outside of the metro. The waiter seated us inside where it was nice and quiet and he spoke to us in English.

It took a while for us to give our order, we were afraid they had forgotten about us but it was ok.  We tried to eat quickly as we didn't want to keep the waiters late but a family came in after us so we slowed our pace.

We ordered the pesto pasta and the hollandaise salad. So much meat!

We enjoyed it so much we returned another time.  This time we sat outside, it was nice. Our waitress did not speak English very well but she tried. We also tried our French. :)

We ordered steak and steak tartare. The steak was ok.  I've never had raw beef and egg like, it was a first and a last. It wasn't bad but I didn't love it either, just wanted to try something new.

Husband loved the rum baba, too strong for me though...

We were traveling with our 8-month old son.  After a long day of sightseeing in Paris, we stumbled across La Fresque on our way back to our rented apartment.  

Our friendly waiter wasn't fazed when my extended family of 6 walked into their tight spaces with a baby.  He immediately found us a spot in the back where we had more room for the stroller.  Right after ordering our food, however, our baby began to act up and would not stop crying.  My wife and I tried everything, including retreating to the empty basement area to feed our son, to no avail.  Our waiter kept checking in on our progress and update us on the status of our food while we were down under. 

When we couldn't quiet our baby, we asked our waiter if we could take our order (already waiting at our table) to go.  One thing we learned on our French vacation is that "to-go" is not a common request; most restaurants aren't even equipped with take-out boxes.  However, our very sympathetic waiter immediately scrambled to find some boxes (I think he had to run to another restaurant), and very kindly provided silverware in the take-out package as he had assumed we were in a hotel and didn't have a kitchen.

I didn't get to taste my excellent roast duck until we got back to our apartment, but I was much more impressed by the service here (also called out by several other Yelp reviews).  It's a local hangout, so it's a bit loud and don't expect fancy frills, but the food is good and the service is amazing.  Highly recommended.

Their indoor space is pretty cramped but the food and service definitely makes up for it. Their razor clam is sooooo good! Cooked to perfection with the flavor and tenderness. Husband got the steak which was okay but their ravioli was great and had to fight my two year old for it. Also ordered the tuna tataki and was melt in the mouth very fresh. But just through the sauce was a bit too much (good thing the sauce was on the side).

Our airbnb hostess recommended this restaurant so we decided to try it our first night here. It is bigger than it looks and very conveniently located near Les Halles. Our server was lovely and very helpful. The food was good but none of us were that excited about it, with the exception of the beef tartar. Maybe we were there on a off night or we just ordered the wrong thing. 3 of us got the Cote de Beouf and it was about 1/2 inch thick which makes it entrecôte with a bone. Way too cooked too.

Centrally located near the Chatelet-Les Halles Metro. Quality of the food was very good and prices extremely reasonable. Under 70 euro for two people with drinks. They even swapped an entree for us with no attitude and no questions asked.
Can't wait to come back - the plane ticket will be expensive!

Came here late, not expecting much.  Blown away by the food.  Razor clams and steak was on point.  Waiters were nice and funny.
