We had a terrific meal here. This restaurant was recommended by a colleague (as his favorite secret spot in Paris). He was right! Friendly service and a prix fix meal that was delicious, at a great price point. Lots of locals and the chef came out to check on everyone. Love a place that cares!

This was by far my best meal in Paris so far. First off it's run with locals so you know it's good. The restaurant only opens from 8-10:30pm, so make a reservation because this is the place to splurge. Tonight I have no idea the actual names of the items we got but I'll describe them as : 

Appetizers/entree - Sea urchin with mixed seafood soup & scallops with avocado.
At first glance I was scared to try the sea urchin but once I tried it, it was delicious! It had a light cream soup texture and had fresh lobster & other seafood inside. Then the scallops were also amazing and had some avocados underneath. Both of the playing was beautiful! 

Main course - roasted chicken breast with mashed potatoes & pork potato stew with vegetables. 
Roasted chicken breast was great, juicy and had a lot of flavor. The STEW was amazing, contained potatoes, pork, carrots, mushroom and other vegetables. It was cooked so well everything was so soft and even my girlfriend who hates vegetables ate the whole thing. 

Dessert - Chocolate lava cake with banana ice cream. 
Amazing way to top the meal with some sweets.

Our meal wasn't cheap, came to around $100 USD, but hey this was all worth it for some authentic french cooked cuisine, amazing service & intimate night. This is a great date spot!

We actually want to rate 3.5, but we inflated it because they really have a friendly service (we don't speak French and they still took our reservation with full humor)
The place is close to our Airbnb and is recommended by the owner.
My hubby tried secret five course, I tried the 3 course
Recommendation: 
White asparagus (starter)
cod with champagne source (plate)
Apple source with cream on the top (dessert)

Not recommend:
Cat fish pan grilled (need more seasoning)
Coffee cream brûlée (all the cream brûlée I had had contrast between the cold cream and the hot caramel on the top, this one is just plain for everything)

Right around the corner from the famed Le Cordon Bleu lies this small restaurant where culinary professors go after a hard day of teaching. So they say.

The restaurant sits on a corner street in the middle of a residential neighborhood, but still blocks from the nearest business and Metro. It looks to be a small restaurant, but there is an extra room in the back, where they sat us because we had a toddler. This is good so that our kid didn't bother other patrons. 

On Saturdays, they have a prefixe tasting menu for a good price. This menu is based on local ingredients they find that weekend, so it can change weekly. On weekdays, you order from a board; no paper menu. Everything is fresh and sourced that day. That is what Chef Matthieu Garrel said as he greeted us at the door.

That night, there was La Mer (the ocean) or La Terre (the earth), which included a seafood bisque, wild chanterelle and foie gras with dill pesto, your choice of either a pan seared white fish over risotto with spiced saffron sauce or a braised pork or for an extra 10 €, half lobster with a red bell pepper sauce an mashed potatoes. After that, there was a small salad with a Camembert type cheese and close with an apple tartine served in a glass with créme fraiche and Pop Rocks! 

Everything was delicious. The bisque was so flavorful as if they simmered out all of the flavor from the heads of shrimp and lobster. The fish was tender and moist and went well with the saffron sauce. The risotto was al dente and not to cheesy. The lobster was cooked perfectly. The cheese was really musty/earthy. And don't forget the dessert. The Pop rocks definitely added a new dimension to apple tartine.

Definitely come here for a try!

I do not see recent reviews so I am adding one aimed primarily at Anglo Yelp users.  An absolutely delightful and unpretentious neighborhood restaurant and certainly one that I would visit again if in the area.  The menu changes regularly so observations on specific dishes may be of limited utility, but I had a shrimp ravioli appetizer and a roasted pork entree.  The first was subtle and something between a dumpling and more standard ravioli; the pork had a robust and hearty mustard flavoring.   Many offerings were recognizably traditional (sometimes with a twist) but  some seemed to have real innovative touches.  The service was quite gracious; while the menu is written on a chalkboard in French, there was no problem getting full explanations (and suggestions) in English.  I was completely comfortable as a single diner. The restaurant was bustling (and a reservation was necessary) but I was still able to enjoy a leisurely meal.

This was suggested to my wife, and it was a wonderful place. Make REZZIES!! They open at 8pm and then close @ 10:30pm. The place is so good they're only open for 2.5 hrs and it is very successful business. What other business can be profitable those hours while everyone in it for 8 hrs a day at least.

GREAT place for the true Bistro experience. My wife and and I will go back again.

During service, the chef even came to us asking if everything is ok. What chef do that now?

Warning to all Americans: Be prepared to know some French. Everything is in French. The chef is a true FOOD ENGINEER!!!!!!!

I've been living in and out of Paris since before I could walk; in fact, I took my first steps near the Avenue de Breteuil, so whenever I'm in Paris, I have a full deck of restaurants, cafes, etc to choose from when I want somewhere familiar to go on a day off.  However, with such a vibrant city, there are always restaurants you walk by on a daily basis and overlook...until you decide to drop in and are completely blown away.

Lunch today at Le Bélisaire was one of those culinary experiences that completely catches you off guard and etches a distinct memory into your taste buds.  I dropped in expecting a typical French three-course lunch and was surprised by the creativity of the menu and the distinctly modern take on what anyone would consider to be the staples of French cuisine.  The 1st course, a "raviolle aux lentilles avec foie gras de canard" piqued my curiousity because of the contrast that was implied and I was completely blown away by how expertly the dish was put together.  A bed of mashed lentils saturated in duck fat and herbs formed the basis for the dish.  A piece of foie gras on top of the lentils, and to finish a paper thin pasta wrapping which was drizzled in an herb infused duck fat reduction.  Completely not what I was expecting, one of the most interesting dishes I've had in almost a year.

The second course did not disappoint either.  While "Joue de Boeuf" is a fairly standard dish, and this was prepared in a more or less standard way, the freshness of ingrediants, the quality of the cut of beef, and the intense flavors more than satisfied.  To complete the meal, a clafoutis of blueberries prepared with so much butter you could taste it in each bite was a perfect dessert.

The cost of all of this?  25 euros, with an extra 7 for the wine.  I will definitely be returning with bated breath the next time I'm in Paris, this time for a dinner service.  And to think, this place is a mere 10 minute walk from my Paris apartment.  The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of the five that Bélisaire deserves is because the decor could use some updating, or at least have the same touches of originality and fantasy as the food.  However, aside from the decor, this was easily one of the most memorable meals I've had in Paris during recent trips.

A small and very French restaurant in the best sense of the word. The waiters are very attentive and even the chef takes a walk around the room from time to time to chat with the guests, who appears very often to be regulars - a good sign. The food was absolutely amazing. Definitely a gem hidden away from the normal tourist tracks.

Mixed experience. Service was friendly, prices were alright. Out of the 3 course menu I had, one dish was great (entree), one mediocre (dessert) and the main dish was disappointingly tasteless.
