I had 1 smoked and 1 classic rib. The classic is WAY better, not to say the smoked is bad. Either way, this place has AMAZING ribs and ridiculously good baked potatoes. I ate the baked potatoes before I even ate the ribs they were so good. However, the ribs were so good they needed no additional sauce. Plus, the host, Ella, was super nice and conversational. She went out of her way to start a conversation :)

LOVED Cafe de Klos. Heavy meat dishes (Lamb, steak,  spare ribs), but soo tasty. The sassy, friendly staff was fun to banter with.  Dark, cozy interior was filled with historical Amsterdam ambiance. A hidden gem. Would definitely come back.

I’ve been eating at this cafe for over 4 years and still haven’t written a review – I seriously judge myself for that! If you want to enjoy the best ribs in Amsterdam, this is the place. A couple of juicy ribs, a large portion of fries, fresh orange juice, and a cold Astel – that’s the secret to the perfect date. The atmosphere is always pleasant, and the food is simply amazing. I highly recommend!

oh my god. this was the most incredible meal. we ordered a 2 racks of ribs, and lamb shoulder, and a jacket potato and cheese board to share.

lamb shoulder - this is the best lamb i’ve ever eaten. the lamb was so tender, juicy, and tasty. i don’t even have words to describe it. if you come here you HAVE to get this.

2 racks of ribs - this was also delicious. the meat literally fell off the bone. these ribs are probably the nicest ribs i have ever had. again, i have no words to describe quite how amazing this was.

cheese board and jacket potato - the cheese board had a lovely selection of goats cheese, brie, and blue cheeses.
the jacket potato was so creamy with garlic butter, and was a lovely extra along side our food. it was served with a bread basket which tasted so fresh.
these sides were shared between four of us and was just about perfect. the jacket potato could be shared between two but overall this was absolutely perfect.

all the food was served with a lovely diced salad and two delicious dips. these complimented the food so well, there were no faults in the food at all. the food did come out at different times, which is the ONLY fault i could find. however we didn’t specifically ask for everything to be served together, so i will be asking for this next time.

the restaurant had great ambiance and the staff were very friendly. i will fly back to amsterdam specifically to go back here.
if you are going to amsterdam this is one not to miss, i highly highly recommend!!

Really cozy looking place for my first meal in Amsterdam. The ribs were delicious although very filling by the end - they do charge extra for sharing FYI. I ordered the mixed of classic and smoked, the smallest portion of 2 ribs which was plenty (I was given an extra classic rib due to one being a little small which was generous of them). Some pieces were really juicy and had a good mix of fat to meat, but some of them ended up being quite dry. I managed to grab a wall seat which was lucky as it ended up being pretty busy, with some groups being turned away during peak time around 7pm. The service was a little slow to start, taking a long time to receive a menu with other groups who had come in after me being waited to first, but once I was attended to the waiter was friendly, helpful and fun. Overall a decent experience and I would return in the future for another trip.
