First of all, Skymarket is not a market, it's a rooftop restaurant! Focusing on one type of cuisine at a time in their changing menu, Skymarket serves small plates for around 3-8 pounds each--waitstaff recommend three plates per person--or a set menu for about 22 pounds per person.
The cocktails we had were VERY strong. Great for if you want to get drunk fast, but we were kind of hoping to appreciate an interesting mix of flavours and could only taste the gin. We got the beef rendang (appropriately spicy), a chicken and groundnut stew(tender and creamy), pickled vegetables(really puny portion size! More like a garnish.), and cassava chips in peanut sauce(extra crispy on the outside--excellent).
We were forgiving because the place was brand new and located outdoors, but we did find a hair and most of an insect in the food.
Despite the so-so drinks and the bugs, my companion and I recommend this place for date nights. The venue is cozy and decorated with interesting fabrics and carved wooden puppets (which appear to be for sale). It's gently lit in the evening and warmed by heaters that will probably stand up to the cold weather for a while longer. Service was friendly and attentive even on a busy Saturday night.
