Great breakfast/brunch spot, a good variety of food selections made me think of   breakfast growing up. The service was excellent as well.  If you're in the area and even if you're not, it's worth the drive.  Cannot wait to go back try more things.  What we had: Fried Catfish, Grant's Stack, Bologna Sandwich and more.

11.8.24 - Sooo i went back and had the recommended Comfy Chicken but with the vegetarian gravy (it has spinach and mushrooms) I will say the Chicken and Bicuit were good but the gravy was....just ok. The "spinach" was not spinach but like collard greens.  My husband had Kevin's Breakfast which is cheese grits & chili toped with 2 eggs - different, but he really liked it. And we tried a pancake, it was good.  I will keep trying more things on their menu because everything sounds good.

When my friends go to Atlanta to visit, this is the place I am first to recommend. Few places outside of the kitchens of family homes do southern breakfast the way Homegrown does it. They can bury me with a comfy chicken biscuit smothered in pork sausage gravy. From giant pancakes to perfect bacon to creamy grits to steak with a delicious homemade steak sauce, they do it all and do it right.

Staff greeted us as we came through the door and we were seated. Restaurant was moderately busy.  The restaurant has an eclectic feel and it made for an interesting dining experience.  I loved the different signs and art on the walls.   The service was average.  Our server greeted us, we ordered and the food arrived fairly quickly.  I ordered chicken and waffles with a side of soft scrambled eggs and my relative ordered the catfish with grits and eggs.  The presentation was good and there was a piece of orange on each  plate. Now this is my opinion,  the chicken was not crunchy and was missing seasoning; very bland. I found myself putting a ton of hot sauce on my chicken to improve the taste.  This seemed to be the same for the catfish.  The eggs were cooked to perfection.  I ordered them soft scrambled.  The waffle lacked flavor and was rubbery.  Honestly, I would not return here for breakfast.  I left almost all of my chicken and half the waffle on the plate.
