Small restaurant feel, service is incredible, and the food was amazing. The schnitzel was just as good as advertised and the potato salad was out of this world. You do need reservations in advance or you can try to walk In on odd times (4PM) to snag a table.

Highly recommend making the reservation with your trip

And they do not serve beer, just wine… whoops.

For schnitzel lovers, it's a must. The menu is small but done well and everything ordered tasted phenomenal. The soup and grape juice, which is homemade here from their vineyards, is particularly good.

Very delicious schnitzel. The most delicious among others restaurants that I ever try. The Viennese boiled beef in the pot is amazing, the soup is tasty, much more better than other famous restaurant. Highly recommended!!!

Do note that Figlmüller Wollzeile is a traditional establishment. They don’t serve beer or fries with the schnitzel, so if you’re looking for more modern pairings, their sister location, Figlmüller Bäckstrasse, might be better suited for you. However, in terms of quality, Wollzeile stands out with its classic schnitzel taste.

The atmosphere here is pure Viennese, with a cozy, rustic feel that enhances the overall experience. Service is friendly and efficient, though the staff may not hover, which keeps with the classic, laid-back vibe. The restaurant itself is clean and welcoming, but it’s the food that truly takes center stage.

Open since 1905, this is a must if you would like to travel back into time and experience one massive, delicious schnitzel! The meat is  properly knocked thin and it is coated in crunchy, golden breadcrumbs. It is so big, it hangs over the plate and it is divine! What goes superbly with the schnitzel is the potato salad, or the mixed salad which consists of potatoes, carrots, cucumber, kraut/cabbage and green leaves. If you cannot finish the schnitzel, they offer a pack with baking paper and a paper bag so that you can take the schnitzel home.

There are a few things to note. To keep with the traditional feel, they do not serve beer or fries with the schnitzel. If that is what you prefer, then I suggest that you go to Figlmüller Bäckstrasse where they do serve less traditional accompaniments as they are a restaurant, and Figlmüller Wollzeile is more traditional. Though I have to say that the quality of schnitzel at the Wollzeile is distinctively better.

In keeping with the original, the feel of the place is very old Vienna. Our attendant was friendly and charming who helped me understand the difference between both locations.

Figlmüller is quite popular and it is booked months in advance, so I highly recommended reserving, especially the Wollzeile location, to avoid disappointment.
