In Paris for a fun five-day stop with kids and GKids- luckily happened onto the Latin Cafe. 

Went there the first night here,  then again tonight for our third night, and you guessed it , made reservations for our fifth/final night of our stay before traveling on. 

I rarely post reviews except for stellar or subpar however, I would recommend to all patrons; families and also romantic couples. 

Chabane, being the new(er) owner, having come up through the ranks at a nearby Michelin Star rated restaurant, has really delivered a sumptuous and fun atmosphere. Sante!!

We stopped in on a whim for a late afternoon lunch. Cafe Latin exceeded our expectations with the level
Of service and food! Our server spoke English very well and was courteous - he kept the baskets of bread and carafes of water flowing. We've become accustomed to bottomless bread and water in the States and understand that it isn't always the case abroad. 

Let's start with the mussels. We tried the curry flavor version and it was soo good! Probably the best mussels we've had in Paris. I also think the pot they serve it in is cute. The lid doubles as a container for the empty mussels shells. 

My daughter ordered the Friday Specjal: codfish cake fritters with salad. Wow! They were fried perfectly, plump and moist. Kind of reminded me of a crab cake but much tastier! The fritters have a bit of kick and come with a side of sauce which is spicy. I would order this again! 

My son ordered the duck confit. He said it was his fave dish in Paris so far. It does have some fatty skin on it, but he said that added flavor. The duck was moist and tasty! 

We also happened to be there during Happy Hour (3pm-7pm) cocktails were 6.50-8.00 Euros and beers were 5.00-6.00 Euros.

Delicious food and good service. Great views and comfortable seating. A nice place for dinner or a drink. A good end to our trip.

The menu is limited. The food was good but undistinguished. Grilled veggie salad was a high point. The waiter was condescending and abrupt even though there were virtually no other patrons in the restaurant. The ambiance was a bit run down. We've eaten at several other places in this section of town but won't be returning to La Latin.

Lovely steak tartare. All the food was really nice and felt authentic. We went for mussels but these are only available on Mondays- but the food we ordered instead didn't let us down it was all great. Dog friendly and staff really lovely. Good value for money.

This was a delicious find, indeed!

I was traveling with someone who couldn't figure out what they wanted to eat for dinner.  We walked around the Latin Quarter for a while, looking at menus, peering into restaurants to see if they were busy and we finally landed here.  Thank goodness.

The person I was traveling with was having a semi-break down (well, honestly, a full blown episode), and this place was a sanctuary for me not only because the food was excellent, but the service as well.
I wish I would have gotten our server's name because he must have felt the tension and interjected some humor into serving us.  Thank you, sir! It was greatly appreciated.

On to the food ... I got a meat and cheese platter (for us less fancy folk, that's what we call it), Escargots de Bourgogne and the Salade du Berger.  The ham, cured sausage, chorizo on the platter was really VERY good.  It was sliced perfectly and was the winner of the three items ordered but just by a inch.  The escargot was pretty amazing as well.  It was the perfect garlic-butter-snail ratio that makes your mouth happy.  The best part of the salad was the toasted goat cheese that was very tasty.  Here's a tip there ... I should have eaten the salad first instead of last.  The flavors of the other plates over powered the simplicity of this lovely salad.  So, don't be me and flip it around.

Its a cute and cozy place with an wonderful staff.  When I'm back in Paris, I will definitely visit again.

Super cute little place right in the Latin quarter! I Ioved how lowkey it was and we got a three course meal for 17 euros!! A steal!! I highly recommend the duck, it was soo tender yet crispy. Also, the escargot was wonderful and they bring you some bread to dip the sauce in! Finally, the creme brûlée was to die for. Excellent service as well, the waitress was very sweet. They also had wonderful french onion soup!

As an avid yelp user, I wanted to make sure any place in Paris I went to had amazing reviews. We stumbled upon this place coincidentally and let me tell you.. the duck confit actually gave me goosebumps with every bite I took. It was amazing. The duck and potatoes melted in my mouth. The only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is because the French onion soup tasted watered down and was lacking that onion and cheese flavor I craved. But other than that, literally perfect. The crème brûlée was amazing too! And in case you're curious, the staff spoke English.
