The Castle is Nothing it self its more about the hiking you take. I would suggest come  hiking your way up otherwise from top the view is nice but you'll  miss the natural pathway small waterfalls , Rock Climbing cliffs etc.

A nice little hike and gives great views of the National palace of Pena with its beautiful colors in the background. A little confusing to navigate from the palace to the castle entrance but once you get to the castle entrance, it's a straightforward path to get to the castle. Mostly come here for the views of the Sintra national forest and the colorful palace background.

Had so much fun hiking from one to another top. Definitely not for the faint-hearted ones especially on a windy day. Gets very foggy and the rocks may be slippery, so come here with pair of good shoes. Beautiful garden filled with hydrangeas and surrounded by greens.

Loved it. Great to arrive at opening time, and a rain shower deterred some people (I sheltered under one of the massive boulders), so I had the site to myself much of the time. Nice to climb the stone steps at my own pace. Spectacular views, including a double rainbow! I took the first bus 434 up and walked the cobbled path down - perfect.
