A restaurant doesn't score 5 stars for being perfect - no no, 5 stars are reserved for that ideal mix of great food and feel within its own self-selected category.  Siam Eatery has done exactly this, rising to the top of the food chain in the fast-eats Asian category in the busy Covent Garden area.

First, the price point is right on with others in their category (think Wasabi and Itsu) at around 8 pounds for a solid meal.  You can get away for 5.50 if you're not that hungry and don't want a drink - but then you'll miss out on their stellar Thai Iced Tea.  And, might I add, this is the first quick-eats Asian place I've visited that has mastered - let alone even TRIED - Thai Iced Tea.  DO IT.

Second, mains are wonderful.  Customisable and packed with flavour, the curries don't just peg to the meat and veg, there's enough juice in there to create that perfect coated, rich rice base that is why we REALLY love curry.  Their everyday special chicken is stunning (think spicy-red curry), while their standard red and green are just as good and full of flavour.  The options of red, brown and white rice, or without rice and salad instead, have reached Tortilla-level customisation without having traded options for quality (as Tortilla have done, IMHO).

Third, it's crazy fast.  Most everything is pre-made, as this category is good at, but they do so well to keep you from knowing it.  Everything is kept hot and unpackaged (except for the fridge salads, of course), and made just for you.  It really does feel like you've stumbled into a legit curry house here.  The spot is busy come lunchtime, though you'll get dinner in 30 seconds flat.  And unlike a lot of popular lunch spots around, they're open til 20:00 most nights, making dinner here feasible.

There are about 10 seats in this place, but you don't need to eat here.  Though it's nice and classy, this is undoubtedly a grab-and-go place.

Seriously, though - don't forget your Thai Iced Tea.  Would be a shame to miss the cherry atop the sundae at this gem of a curry palace.

It gave me really a brand new impression of the Thai food. It's just so Thai and good to restore the appetite in this hot summer. 
Service is also very good, the food is served extremely fast so it's perfect to take away. It's good for both lunch and dinner. Last but not least, the price is even very nice!

Went here on a rainy day to have some Thai food to warm me up. The food definitely was warming, I had the red Thai veg curry which was super spicy (for me) but very tasty. The cafe is very well positioned for Covent Garden but is off the beaten track so not full of tourists. They have a selection of different warm dishes, varying in spicy-ness and meats. They also sell some lovely looking salads. The price is reasonable for Covent Garden with the veg curry costing £5 and salads £4.80. They also have a few seats inside and they don't charge you extra to eat in which is great! The staff are lovely too and will advise you on what to have if you're not a huge fan of spicy food (I only realised this after fighting my way through the red Thai curry though).
I went back again today and had a delicious satay chicken sandwich which was very yummy.

A great quick Thai spot, with food ready in 2 minutes. We ordered the Green Curry chicken and veg, and the Pork Chu Chee, both with brown rice. Tons of really filling, cheap food. Love it! Short review I know, but it's just that simple.

I really enjoyed my lunch there, chicken Panang was super delicious, felt full for the whole day. But also, very nice to have an option of having salad with the meal. 
The service is super fast despite the high demand and peak time. Definitely coming back for more lunches!

This is the quickest and cheapest Thai place I've ever visited, and my meal tasted wonderful. The menu is pretty limited, but I can't complain since I usually find myself choosing between the same dishes whenever I go out for Thai food, and it offered all of them (noodles, curry, and soup). I got the red curry with vegetables, along with a mix of red & brown rice and salad.  It cost me less than £6 and I think it took under 5 minutes to be served. The portion size was perfect -- I left very satisfied. The restaurant is small, and but I came here with 3 other friends and luckily we were all able to sit at the only table in there that was large enough to fit all of us. The employees were very friendly towards our group and created a nice atmosphere. This place is also in a great location, and ideal for take-away if you want to eat while walking in Covent Garden.

Solid, fairly priced Thai food served up by some really really nice guys. We needed to charge our iPhone and they even offered up a portable charger for us to use while we munched out on Green Curry, Chicken Penang and Pork Chu-Chee. We pigged out. And barely spent 24£ ! Good for a quick bite en route to the theatre. We'll be back !!!

I lived in Covent Garden for a year, and Siam Eatery was my go-to take away. Warm delicious Thai food, solid portions at a reasonable price for the area? Powerful combo!

Seriously, if this place launched over here in the student area of Philly, the kids would go nuts. I probably visited Siam 20 odd times over the year (enough to get through a punch card and land my girlfriend a freebie), and was never disappointed. 

Staff are beyond incredibly friendly/chill and will steer you towards your ideal choice if you need a suggestion. You won't feel rushed here, and will only need to wait a minute for the end result. Small, but welcoming atmosphere.

To anyone that lives in the area and has only visited once...shame on you for not going back and trying out the rest of the amazing options (unless you heroically defeated all options in one sitting).

I pretty much exclusively had the Massaman (hearty) and Green (uhhh, green) curries, and nothing can fill the void at that price / speed now that I have moved back to the U.S....

I came here on a weekday at around 1 pm - the line wasn't too long, and it moved very quickly which was a plus. It was pretty chilly/rainy outside so I was immediately drawn to the rice hot pot and ultimately opted for the Chicken Ginger one (I believe it's a Monday "special") with brown rice. Literally 5 minutes after I ordered, my food was ready! Not only was the service fast, but the food was hot and tasted great too. I have to say the topping (fried onion flakes?) wasn't my favorite, but the stuff underneath - the chicken, ginger, and rice - was really good. And it was really filling. I got the regular size this time, which was enough for 1.5 meals so in that sense you really get a lot for your money (I think I paid around 7). The only negative is that the place is pretty small so you'll likely have to take-out, but other than that I loved my experience here.
