We have been visiting this Irish restaurant for the past 7 years - birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, family dinners. It’s that “special” restaurant you keep returning again and again, wondering if it really was as good as you remembered.

It is.

Their seasonal tasting menu is always surprising, creative and executed to perfection. In addition to the dishes on the menu, you also get a few surprises from the kitchen (I think we got 4 on our last visit!). I’m still dreaming of the agnolotti, the Jerusalem artichoke chocolate dessert, the warm bread pudding, and pork belly with a glassy crackling….

The staff is warm and efficient without being intrusive or aloof. We always feel welcome and never rushed or uncomfortable.

The prices have gone up since we first visited, but that is to be expected and it is still fantastic value. I can’t think of another fine dining restaurant we have visited as many times as this one, and I hope there will be many more.

With Liath (Blackrock) and Host (Ranelagh), this restaurant is in my favourite top three in Dublin. The decor is basic, but who cares? It's all about the food. The waitstaff are quirky and brilliant at what they do, so I asked to take their photo. I've been a few times now, and it's super high standard every time. You HAVE to do the tasting menu. I didn't do the wine tasting menu this time but got lucky with a lovely Austrian White and Red. We had three bottles of wine and four tasting menus between four people, and it came to around €150 a head, not cheap,  but it's worth it. ( wine around €55 a bottle). Hi guys from me if you are reading this, thanks for a great night. I will be back. Ps I don't think my photos do the food justice.

WOW - we have been on a 3 month "foodie" tour through Europe. Starting in Spain then Italy and even slipping into Budapest. Our last few days were in Dublin and we did not expect this type of experience.

Dinner was a prefixed experience which listed 5 or so items but with a few more surprise dishes added to the mix. This husband and wife team have perfected the variety and seasoning of every dish. We loved almost every dish and that has never happened to us at a prefixed multi-course restaurant. The Sea Trout was excellent and the Hake was amazing. The Duck dish and the sweet corn veloute were also home runs. The Forest Avenue red wine from France was also really good.

Absolut excellent experience. The food and the service were fantastic. The chef (and his sourdough bread 😊) is of the highest standard in Europe. We can only recommend everyone to visit and look forward to come back

Love the venue, really cosey and intimate. Calm but lively music plays in the background and really ads to the overall atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and immaculate with service, very engaging. The food was amazing, bursting with flavour. The dry aged beef was some of the best I’ve ever had and the shiitake ice cream was phenomenal. Definitely recommend and will definitely be returning
