Second time visiting.
First time with owner chef and second time with different chef. So excited to be back and lived up to the expectations.
Highlights of sushi was turbot for me. My husband loved the tuna belly the most and we could order the extra pieces of sushi more. Unfortunately, langoustine was only per head and we couldn’t get more as extra. Bar sitting isn’t the most comfortable set up but it was enjoyable to watch as if theatrical show. Also, if there are big group of people sitting beside you, it’s a bit distracting and get loud in the restaurant.
Recommend to do: don’t be afraid to get extra sushi piece that you liked the most. Try some warm sake drinks or cold. Eat sushi with your hand and don’t waste too much time to take a picture.

The place is very exclusive, the chef is right there in front of you preparing the nice and fresh food, however, the price and quantity is  not very reasonable. It’s a small and regular Japanese food. Do not expect you gonna be satisfied after the experience. For the price, I was expecting either good amount of food or very different and exclusive type of food. But no, it’s just regular and small niguiris.

Very nice place for Omakase in Dublin, opens at 5pm daily for Omakase Dinner, very pleasant experience and Japanese staff were so polite. Really enjoyed my time there, highly recommend!

Today we had lunch in Matsukawa, the staff were a pleasure to deal with. The restaurant is very small but has a great atmosphere. We had the set lunch menu and it was absolutely delicious, the sushi box was to die for, and the miso soup super flavourful. The dessert was very interesting combination of flavours very well paired. We’ll definitely return. Thanks for being so accommodating.

Our recent Omakase experience in Matsukawa was nothing short of phenomenal.
We received such a warm greeting, and were offered drinks - we couldn’t decide which Sake to pick as they had such a big selection, but the staff was great at giving recommendations, and gave us some tasters to make a good choice!
Every single dish was so well thought out, and so so tasty! The variation of every course brings you on a little journey, showcasing the freshest ingredients and the chef's incredible talent.
My favorites were definitely the sea bream, the prawn and the silkiest eggs!

We had such an amazing experience, loved the intimate setting, chatting with the chef and staff about Japan and sushi.

Overall, this experience was truly unforgettable, and we can’t wait to be back.
