Service was great!
Friendly people.
Pub atmosphere is on point. Low lit lighting and decor makes me feel like I went back in time a bit. I love it! From California visiting, I felt like I stepped in a time capsule where the dimly lit place feels cozy and warm. I only wish we had pubs like this back home. This is a place you want to meet friends and talk over a beer.

Went here after seeing it featured in YouTube travel videos.

It truly is beautiful and interesting to look at inside and out, but like my friend said, "What is their theme? It's like they just did all of it!"

From the outside, it looks beautiful because it's covered in flowers.

When you walk inside, there's a bar and there's British flags hanging from the ceiling and Winston Churchill art on the walls.

I said, "Now this is a proper British pub!"

And my friend who is British said, "This is a British pub that's gone over the top!"

I read that this is actually one of the oldest pubs in London being established in 1750, and was frequented by Winston Churchill's grandparents who the pub is named after.

I had made a reservation for dinner, so we were led to the back where there were Thai flags hanging from the ceiling and plants as wells, to the point it looked like a jungle.

The dishes were all Thai and I read that this is one of the first restaurants to serve Thai food in London in the 1990's, and it all started with a chef who was Thai.

I ordered vegetarian pad thai. It was good, but more noodles than vegetables.

The price and portions were reasonable.

Overall, this was a good experience that I'd recommend.

I admit it. I convinced Jamie W to walk here from Holland Park just for the Instagram shot. But hey, since we're here, why not have a pint of Guinness? Yes, I realize it's 11AM but one should conform to the convivial mood, shouldn't one? Now give us credit for not partaking in their extensive menu of unexpected Thai specialties like Pad Thai and Duck Curry. After all, we just had some pub grub at The Elephant and Castle (review: https://yelp.to/SKKQklEff-).

Like I said, the appeal for us is on the outside. On the hanging sign, Winnie's stern stare looked down upon passers by with wartime conviction. "Truth is incontrovertible. Panic may resent it. Ignorance may deride it. Malice may distort it. But there it is." Well-maintained plants line the eaves with rich foliage dotted by colorful flowers. They gave unexpected life to a pub established in 1750 and frequented by Churchill's grandparents. Pip, pip, and all that.

Iconic British Pub and a crowd to prove it. Great looking inside and out. For "just drinks" it's find a seat. On this day it was hot outside and therefore inside sans AC. 

Still had fun. Tables did turn but generally not bussed quickly, if ever.

What a great place! Very much what you would expect a British pub to be with a great wink and a nod to Churchill and just a fun atmosphere. Gorgeous exterior, prime for picture taking!
You can order Thai food if you can find a table or just have a pint, we really enjoyed the pad Thai and the dumplings, but it's worth it just to go in and have a beer.

This building is beautiful and known for its flower display out front. The Thai food inside is also delicious. The flavors were so good, and the staff was very attentive. I would definitely recommend this place to eat or get a drink if you just want to hang out at the pub.

I was surprised to find that this well known English pub sold Thai food. In terms of the atmosphere and the environment this place is everything you want, dive bar type feel, a bunch of random out of place feeling type decorations, and just a laid back crowd of people looking to get a drink. The food itself felt like any other Thai place honestly, I wouldn't say anything really blew my mind but it wasn't entirely bad either. It sufficiently meets your needs for a Thai place and is a pretty decent spot to get a drink overall.

Love how this place serves Thai food! When you think of Churchill, you don't think of Thai food. 

Love the building, the florals, and the decors inside. 

The food....spicy! I love spicy food but what I ordered was almost too spicy to enjoy. I do appreciate the variety of dishes offered in the menu. Next time, I'll have to remember to ask them to spice it down. 

Service was great and efficient! Brought me more water pretty quickly!

Nice neighborhood pub in the Kensington area. Has a Thai restaurant inside which closes at 9pm. Lots of old pictures and vibe in this pub.

VERY SMALL AND COZY PLACE. 
Were there during holidays so it was a no-win situation trying to sit in the pub any time after 3pm (the Xmas lights come on at 430pm in early December) 
Soooo we ordered food in the Thai restaurant 
First of all
YUM!!!! Food was DELICIOUS 
Second of all the service was amazingly nice  and attentive 
We got vegetable spring rolls, dumplings, pad Thai and pad khing 

All were amazing
We ordered drinks with our meal at the table and they let us continue to just order drinks after the meal so we didn't have to stand in the now PACKED pub of revelers waiting for the Xmas lights to be lit.
