I am going to preface this by saying we’ve been coming here for years, multiple times per year.

This restaurant is the heart and soul of Florence, not just because of its location but because of the care the entire staff puts into the dining experience.  They are extraordinarily kind, always bustling around, and trying to ensure everyone has a good time.  The menu is traditional Tuscan with something for everyone.  This is real food, made with care.  Some dishes do run out because they are so popular.  The alternatives can be just as tasty, so don’t let that ruin your meal.  The wine list is thoughtfully curated for every price point. You need reservations. You have to call to get them. It’s popular for very good reasons.  If you want a great dinner AND you want to be happy, go to Vecchi Sapori.

If you don’t want to be happy, go somewhere else. These people are truly trying to make a Florentine dining experience fresh, tasty, and fun for everyone. 💙

During our visit to Florence, we discovered one of the city’s best restaurants. The food was unforgettable. But what truly set this place apart was the exceptional service. The entire staff was warm and attentive, but Pablo, our wonderful waiter, made us feel like VIPs.

If you’re in Florence, don’t miss this gem. A rare blend of incredible food and outstanding hospitality!

This is a small family run restaurant and a real gem. Got in without a reservation for dinner through blind luck, it's highly recommended that you book in advance because the space is limited.

The menu is largely Tuscan staples and the meal was probably the best we had in Italy. Service was incredibly friendly and we were well taken care of by the staff while the host sang along to 2000s dance music.

Overall an incredible experience and we came back for a quick lunch a few days later because of it.

This was the best restaurant in Florence and it isn’t even close! Hands down the funniest waiter and staff. The owner(I assume?) and our waiter had us rolling laughing at their charismatic true selves (Tomaso you are the best!)

The food- must have the pasta. Best pasta we had our entire trip. We ordered the Pappardelle with duck, and the zucchini flower pasta. The saffron risotto and veal were good but the pasta was the best.

Pro tip- must have a reservation to enjoy this gem. Unimpressive looking on the outside but don’t be fooled.

Come for the food but leave with the laughter. (ps: PLEASE ORDER THE ICE CREAM CAKE)

1. It’s very famous so it’s always busy so it’s very important that You have a reservation
2. When you have a reservation on a specific time, it doesn’t mean you will be seated right away. You wait until seats are available so be prepared for the queue. You may get lucky if you arrive and your seat is ready. If you question why there’s vacant seats but won’t let you in yet, it only means they are controlling the workload of the kitchen. The chef is an old mama with some assistants (you can immediately tell how authentic your food will be).
3. It’s a small place, limited chairs only and you will be a little cramped inside, be prepared on this ambiance.
4. You will wait for your food a little longer but the wait is totally worth it
5. Great food, the quality is authentic and great flavors, cooked perfectly.
6. The staff were good, too. They were apologetic of the wait and thankful for the patience.
7. 1 star less just because of the wait and the small place. Otherwise, they have good food and reasonable price.
