Zhruba v polovině bulváru La Rambla je malé náměstí Placa Boqueria se stejnojmennou neoklasicistní fontánou z roku 1830. Byla vyrobena z mramoru a tvoří ji oblouk s erbem Barcelony pod nímž leží kyj a kůže lva – symboly Herkula, který byl podle legendy zakladatelem města. Pod erbem jsou vyobrazeny tři reliéfy lidských tváří se lví hřívou kolem hlavy. Mezi nimi dva kohoutky na vodu, poslední roky bohužel bez vody.
Dříve v těchto místech stávala středověká brána, kterou se vstupovalo opevněním do města. Před branou se scházeli pouliční prodavači a farmáři z okolních vesnic, aby zde za hradbami prodávali svoje zboží a ušetřili tak na daních.
Dnes tu bydlí bezdomovci….

About halfway down La Rambla is a small square, Placa Boqueria, with a neoclassical fountain of the same name from 1830. It was made of marble and consists of an arch with the coat of arms of Barcelona under which lies a club and the skin of a lion – symbols of Hercules, who, according to legend, was the founder of the city. Below the coat of arms are depicted three reliefs of human faces with a lion's mane around the head. Among them two water taps, unfortunately without water in recent years.
Previously, a medieval gate used to enter the city through the fortifications stood in these places. In front of the gate, street vendors and farmers from the surrounding villages gathered to sell their goods here behind the walls and thus save on taxes.

Es una font neoclàssica construïda l'any 1830 declarada bé cultural d'interès local. Al tram central de la font hi han tres planxes de pedra, en cadascuna de les quals hi ha representada una cara amb una corona de llorer i la caballera de lleó. A sobre de les cares i al centre hi ha un gran escut, que representa l'escut de la ciutat enquerit amb els atributs d'Hèrcules -la clava i la pell de lleó al peus- com a llegendari fundador de la ciutat. Una altre font de Barcelona amb molta història i que mereix una visita.

In the central section of the fountain there are three stone slabs, each of which depicts a face with a laurel wreath and the lion cavalry. Above the faces and in the center is a large shield, which represents the coat of arms of the city encrusted with the attributes of Hercules - the club and the lion's skin at the foot - as the legendary founder of the city.
