Numa Pompilio came highly recommended by fellow travelers in our group, and they weren’t wrong about the venue—it truly felt like dining in a palace. The service was excellent, and the experience of having some dishes prepared at the table made us feel very special. However, it was disappointing to be charged for items we assumed were complimentary, like tap water and unrequested extras. On the plus side, my lobster and prawns starter was delicious, though my veal Milanese was overcooked. The garden terrace is also stunning and worth a separate booking.

Too expensive! Don’t get me wrong, this is a nice place with a majestic atmosphere and kind service but why am I paying almost €7 for a bottle of water that I didn’t even get to finish (they prematurely removed it from my table without asking). Additionally, why is there a 10% penalty charge for sitting on the terrace?

Like I previously said, this place is very nice and majestic. The drinks were perfectly balanced and the entrees as well as the desserts were delicious. The portions are small but leave room for dessert. Speaking of dessert, they prepare the tiramisu table side, which is pretty neat. The staff is very attentive and friendly. They speak both English, Spanish, and French to facilitate your experience. The entire place, inside and outside, has a very beautiful, highbrow aesthetic that I have yet to experience in Madrid.

The downside is the price. Main entrees are €20-45 a plate with drinks being around €18 a pop. I’m not saying the food isn’t worth it, I’m just saying compared to the rest of Madrid’s culinary economy it’s way over priced.

Overall, beautiful and delicious but for me one and done due to the price. Still, though, it’s a great experience.

The much-anticipated fusion of Italian cuisines did offer some good dishes, showcasing quality ingredients and creative recipes. However, the overall experience left much to be desired.

Despite the restaurant's charming decor and welcoming ambiance, the service was a significant letdown. From long wait times to inattentive staff, the lackluster service detracted from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience. Basic requests were often delayed or forgotten, and there was a notable lack of attentiveness that one would expect from a restaurant with such high acclaim.

While the food itself was good and occasionally delightful, the inconsistency in service overshadowed the culinary aspects. A special meal is about more than just good food; it’s also about the feeling of being well taken care of, and in this regard, POMPILIO fell short.

In summary, while the dishes at POMPILIO Restaurant can still appeal to food enthusiasts seeking innovative fusion cuisine, the overrated status and disappointing service make it hard to fully recommend. Here's hoping that they can address these service issues in the future, as the potential for a truly great dining experience is certainly there.

It's an amazing Italian restaurant in Madrid city.
They have a seating on the terrace, but you have to pay 10% more !!
The restaurant is expensive compared to other Italian restaurants in the town.

I ordered the tagliolini with mushrooms in a pecorino wheel. It was nice, though the flavor could’ve been more dynamic; it improved with a bit of chili and pepper. The salmon and avocado tartare was tasty, though they were a bit light on the avocado. The drinks leaned toward the bitter side, so I’d recommend skipping them if you prefer something sweeter. The service was okay, but the ambiance and atmosphere were beautiful. I’d consider coming back for the vibe and to try something different on the menu.
