Amazing Birthday Experience at Ron Gastrobar!

We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday at Ron Gastrobar, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The team took such great care of us, ensuring everything was discreet and seamless – just what we were hoping for. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff went above and beyond with their friendly and helpful service.

We also had the chance to try several drinks, and the combinations were spot on – each one unique and well-crafted.

As a sweet touch, they surprised us with a dessert complete with a candle, which made my girlfriend's day even more special. She absolutely loved it!

All in all, it was a fantastic evening, and I highly recommend Ron Gastrobar, be it a special occasion or not. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making it such a memorable celebration!

What a way to end our trip ! Amsterdam is my new Paris! This is a 1 Michelin with the loveliest atmosphere - lively staff, aromas from kitchen wafting into dining hall, casual but classy bistro style lay out and the food was amazing !!! We had the ribeye and pheasant both of which was absolutely lovely 🥰 dessert was so awesome too with some complimentary ice cream cones at the end . My favourite 1 Michelin . Hands down. Will visit again when in Amsterdam

Disappointing Service, Despite Great Food

We dined at the restaurant last night to celebrate my wife’s birthday, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to its Michelin one-star reputation. Prior to our visit, I called to inform them about the special occasion and was assured it had been noted. I was told there would be a celebratory gesture, such as a dessert with a candle. However, nothing was done throughout the evening, which was disappointing and left us feeling overlooked.

The service fell far short of Michelin standards. We weren’t asked if we had any allergies, and there were long delays before our order was taken. We even had to pour our own wine—a detail that felt out of place for a restaurant with such a distinction.

Despite the service issues, the food itself was impressive. We started with pani puri ayam as a snack, followed by steak tartare with jalapeño and anchovies and king mushroom with enoki and ponzu as starters. The king mushroom dish was phenomenal—perfectly balanced and a true highlight of the evening.

For mains, we enjoyed the ribs and salmon trout with nduja and orzo. The varnish on the ribs complemented the meat beautifully, and both dishes were well-executed. Dessert was a creamy rice pudding with citrus compote, pecans, and caramel, which was very satisfying. We were also surprised with a small serving of ice cream at the end.

While the food was undeniably delicious, the lack of attention to service and failure to meet expectations for a Michelin-starred restaurant significantly detracted from the experience.

The food was really good and delicious. Not a single plate was average or below. The waitress was really friendly. The only negative feedback would be regarding the portion vs price ratio, even though the plates are delicious yet they come in small portions with respect to their price. The beef Wellington was superb, yet paying 90 euros for a plate that barely feeds two people is not something that would make me come again.
