My sandwich was delicious. Ham and Cheese, but fancy, and they made me ice tea which was just what I wanted. Super friendly staff. I may go for coffee in the morning.

On the run? And in need of a good sandwich? Well you'll find it right here! I've gone here a couple of times, and it's simply 'convenient'! The pricing isn't so bad, and neither is the taste of their sandwiches. Quite scrumptious if you ask me! Here's what I've tried: ~ The RUBY (€5.50): Made with a healthy serving of kanturk pastrami, add some saurkraut, slap on the swiss cheese, glide some horseradish on rye bread and you're golden! If you order this for breakfast, then you best eat it while it's hot. But also not bad if you plan to save it for lunch. ~ The HAM and CHEESE (€5.50): Made with ham hock slices and grilled gruyere cheese, a couple of tomatoes, some pickles, and all put together between some toasted sour dough. Can't say it's the best ham'n'cheese ever (as most yelpers have mentioned), but it wasn't the worst. Delish! ~ Regular Coffee (€2.20): Bold and aromatic! Full-flavored, and kept me awake. Great way to start your day! I dig it! I'll be back!

Oxmantown do the best brownies in Dublin. They are amazing. They are full of nuts and are incredibly gooey and soft on the inside. So chocolatey. So very chocolatey. What makes them even better is the fact that they are only 75 cents. That is right; the best brownie in Dublin is only 75 cents. There are many places selling inferior brownies for more than 3 times that much. Oxmantown's brownies blow them out of the water in every possible way. The café is situated on Abbey street, just off Capel street. It is a nice little place; brightly lit and quiet with a great window to sit in and watch the trams go by. They do lovely homemade soups and some really good sandwiches. I got the Ruby (Reuben ; delicious pastrami on rye with saurkraut, pickles, horseradish and swiss cheese. Thoroughly delicious; the best Reuben I've had outside of New York. They have great coffee too (I think its Cloud Picker). My one issue with this place is its absurd opening hours; they open nice and early at 7.30am but they close very early too 4.00pm. When I have the chance to pop in at lunch time and pick up some brownies I do, but I am usually on my way home just after 4.00 so it is rare that I get to do that. I know it is a minor issue but I would love to make Oxmantown brownies a part of my walk home every day :P

Oxmantown is such a gem! I came in here for lunch with a friend and upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the friendly guys behind the counter. They've got a nice number of sandwiches to select from on the wall, as well as an assortment of baked goods on the counter. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich (€5.50) and a Mint Lemonade, and by-golly, they were delicious. I thought the sandwich was a little dry because of the bap bread, but the flavors were definitely there. If you get anything out of the review, please take note that the Mint Lemonade is a god send. It is so refreshing, and I would highly recommend it--on a sunny day, people watching, sippin' on some lemonade... that's the good life. Oxmantown, I'm coming back for ye!

Seriously good sandwiches and salads for lunch. There's not much room to eat in (standing space only), so it's strictly a take-away joint, but it's cute and friendly and the service is fast. The ham and cheese was particularly memorable and another great example of how simple ingredients done well can be mind-blowing. Oxmantown's version of this classic sandwich is made with real ham (chunks of moist tender meat, not the rubbery pre-sliced stuff from the supermarkets), gruyere, bechamel sauce, tomato and toasted to perfection on sourdough. SO good. The Lebanese salad was also fantastic. It was so fresh and bursting with interesting textures and flavours - hummous, pumpkin seeds, pomegranate seeds, cucumber, mint, olives, fresh chunks of nectarines... the flavours kept giving and giving. It's all served with a pita wrap, so is definitely a meal in itself but if you wanted to share, it's a nice counter-balance to the richness of any of the meaty sandwiches. Oh, and in the mornings, you can grab a cinnamon bun and a coffee for €3.50! Bargain!

Wow wow wow. I love sambos and man oh man do they make good sambos here! I've had this bookmarked for a while and as I'm rarely in this part of town I made a point of making a bee line to it yesterday when I was nearby! I actually really wanted to try their flatbread but they were all out. Not gonna lie, I was momentarily gutted. So I opted for their ham and cheese sandwich instead. DIVINE. This was without a doubt the nicest sandwich I've had in long long time. The ham was off the bone, there was Gruyere cheese, rocket, tomato and pickles! The bread itself was nice and chewy and fresh. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single bite. It might be a few months until I'm in this part of town again but at least I know where to get some delicious grub to go!

75c hazelnut brownies? Seemed a bit cheap so I asked if I was reading it right. 'Well,' sez my genial host, 'if that's too cheap for you I can charge you 85c. Is that alright?'. 'Huh?' sez I. 'Ok,' sez he, '95c. No, a euro, just for you'. 'Okay okay! Stop right there. Grand. I'll have a coffee as well'. So, service with a smile, great coffee, and 75c brownies. Of course when I went to pay for my €2 coffee and my 75c brownie, I was told my brownie was now €2.75...but my coffee was free. Haha!

Excellent sarnies, excellent value. Bam. That's it. Tiny little place on the LUAS track, just off Capel Street. Five sarnies on the menu, between myself and my other half I've sampled each one...they're all top class. Pulled Pork on a blaa is the pick of the bunch for me, although I'm on a dangerous pork spiral at the moment - gunna need some treatment sooner rather than later, can't get enough of the stuff. Ingredients are all top notch, everything prepared while you wait in the little open kitchen. Limeade (yes, blast from the past) is the drink of choice - they make it themselves and it's gorgeous. A few seats around the outside of the room (maybe seating for ten people tops), but mostly going for the takeaway office crowd I guess. All sarnies are 5.50 - bloody bargain.

I've been meaning to review Oxmantown for a while now... This draft has been sitting for a month. But I keep on putting it off in order to do more research... Coffee: Good Their coffee is tasty. The barista knows what he's doing. It's not the best coffee in town (brother hubbard nearby is better), but it's good value and tasty. Snacks: Tasty brownies They sell €0.75 brownies. For context, you could get 4 of these brownies for the same price as bus ticket. They are small, but delicious. Food: excellent Oxmantown does sandwiches. (The menu is on the wall, it took me a while to find it, so be warned). Go for the pulled pork blaa. It has juicy & tender pork, good bread for it, and a great size. All their sangers are €5.50. Atmosphere: Jovial The barista at the till is friendly & witty, and the man in the kitchen is a quite complementary foil in the act. Seating: non-existant There are 10 stools in the place, so this is not a place for a pleasant afternoon's chats. It will be packed at lunch time. Be prepared to get takeaway. It is a lot less busy outside of the 1-2 lunchbreak. You should give Oxmantown a go!
