Super friendly staff, lovely hotel, in a great location. Safe, quiet, modern rooms. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back again. Great experience overall. Also the breakfast was excellent, good quality options.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Senato Hotel Milano for an exceptional stay. The staff, especially Asuncion at the reception, were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my visit. The breakfast team also deserves special mention for their warm service and delicious offerings. This hotel has truly made my experience memorable, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Milan!

Can’t express how impressed I was with my recent stay at Senato! Beautiful hotel with a gorgeous restaurant caffe nestled in a beautiful cozy garden. Rosie and Marianna were incredible hosts every morning for breakfast, which was more than bountiful. Not a ton of amenities if looking to “resort” for a while, but great location close to all the best shopping Milano has to offer! I would definitely stay again!

So I'll start with the good. The hotel is beautiful, the lobby is picture worthy. The hotel is also well located. It's close to a lot of good restaurants, shopping, and the main tourist sites.

The room is small as others have mentioned, however we knew that and didn't care - it is Milan afterall. The bed was comfortable and the room served its purpose. The bathroom was small but functional.

While I appreciated having a breakfast available, it was not the best, we've had much better in other hotels in Milan.

Now for the bad:

Upon arriving at the hotel and checking in we immediately had issues. We purchased the hotel room using Google Pay, which has a safety feature that creates a virtual credit card number different than the one on your physical card. The hotel staff demanded that we provide them with the card we used to purchase the hotel room to prove to them that we were the ones who actually purchased the room. We had issues because of Google Pay's virtual card number change. To them it did not matter that the name on the card, the reservation, and the names in our official passports ALL matched. Not even the email receipt we had of the purchase satisfied them.

She was going to cancel our reservation, refund it, and redo the reservation on our physical card at the updated more expensive current rate for that night. However, luckily after about 15 mins of my husband and I searching, I was able to find the charge in my credit card statement from months prior and prove we bought it. This was absolutely insane and completely unacceptable considering our passports matched the name on the card and reservation. This felt like a thinly veiled attempt at a money grab on unsuspecting foreign tourists. We were on our honeymoon, It begs the question "What would have happened if my family bought us that room as a gift?" Our name would not have been on the card - it would have been an expensive nightmare.

Moving on;

The first night, my husband and I and a group of four other folks staying at the hotel were unable to access the hotel at approximately 1130pm for about 10 to 15 minutes. The automatic doors wouldn't open, the doorbell went unanswered many times, the hotel key cards didn't work on anything, and no one picked up the multiple phone calls from multiple worried and increasingly upset people.  When we finally got inside, the look on the staff's faces behind the counter said it all - they knew they messed up and they knew we were upset. I just remember thinking to myself "omg are we going to have to find a different place to sleep tonight?! this late at night, in Milan?!" A hotel customer should never have that thought running through their head. Completely unacceptable.

I'm willing to give this hotel the benefit of the doubt that this experience was some fluke and wont happen again. It did not happen to us again during the following nights that we stayed there. However, I spent the rest of our stay worried we would run into the issue again.

All that being said, I will not stay at this hotel again and can not in good faith recommend it to anyone. 2 stars only because the room was decent and the hotel well located.

Don’t stay in this hotel. The hotel looks nothing like its pictures, the room is a disappointment. The staff treated me like a child, quizzing me on every visitor. The hotel had mosquitos, the AC did not work well and the water did not get hot enough. Completely overpriced. There are so many lovely other hotels in Milan. Only good thing is the location.
