Absolutely LOVED touring the canals of Amsterdam by kayak with Ed! It was a serene, beautiful way to enjoy the city from the water. Ed was a gracious host and tour guide, and made us feel very comfortable. 100% recommend this amazing opportunity!

The best way to explore the waterways of Amsterdam, Ed was a brilliant guide, making sure we were comfortable in the kayak before setting off on a scenic journey along the canals. It was something very special seeing the city from the water, looking up at the picturesque buildings framed by the many bicycles. Ed's knowledge is vast and he shared many interesting stories along the way. This was an unforgettable experience and one I would highly recommend.

We had a great time on our 2 hour tour at Kayak in Amsterdam. Ed was the consummate guide, with excellent knowledge of the canals as well as the city of Amsterdam. This was the best way to get a view of the city from the canals, and a unique way to explore. Navigating the canals was seamless, and Ed was able to deftly guide and navigate around any boat traffic, which was minimal on the day we toured. Views of all the different houseboats and pretty patios was awesome. We felt completely safe and comfortable. The kayaks were very stable, and I would say we stayed 97% dry with just the usual paddle dribbles, and just a tiny bit of rain. Even our shoes stayed dry.

We are over 60, in moderate shape, (We walk, hike, e-bike, snorkle, paddleboard, etc, all at low to moderate levels.) and we found the paddle to be very easy. Launching from Ed's private, flat dock was super simple. Ed was very attuned to our fitness level and catered the paddle to our levels and speed. He also gave us many recommendations for all types of restaurants, which we were very happy to follow. The two hours flew by! This is a unique and fun way to see the city, it was far better than the canal boat tour that we had taken just a day earlier. It's a great price for the experience, don't be afraid to give it a try.

An excellent tour, taking in lots of sights while gently paddling round and chatting. I learnt lots about Amsterdam’s history, but also about current life as a houseboat owner in the city, in response to my questions. The canals and Amstel river were mostly quiet and we had them to ourselves. In the small sections that were busier, I felt very safe under Ed’s guidance. I would highly recommend this as a way to see Amsterdam. Many thanks!

After a long email exchange, Edward understood how badly we wanted to kayak in Amsterdam and took us on the three-hour tour even though his season was really over. He was a delightful and informative guide, we had an amazing time, and he was so gracious about my mobility issues and the way they handicapped my getting out of the boat. This was one of the best city kayaking experiences we’ve had, and it was so comfortable leaving from his houseboat and changing into civilian clothes there afterward. Great experience!
