The hotel is located on a quiet street close by to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and Vondelpark and provides easy access to transit at the Concertgebouw tram station (which allows a short ride to both Amsterdam Centraal and Amsterdam Zuid). The local area also has good restaurants on the main street as well as a nearby market on the weekends.

The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly with a list of food recommendations for the area.

We originally booked a smaller room but were upgraded to a larger apartment for some reason (maybe just availability?), which we really appreciated.

The staff at the front desk were always so nice and attentive! Explained to us thoroughly about nearby attractions and even was able to lend us a luggage scale on our last night.

We booked a Twin Bunk Bed room. The room was small (average European size), but we were able to open up two checked suitcases with room to still walk around. Bathroom was decently sized considering other European hotels we've stayed at, and finishes were very nice and modern. Room was cleaned everyday, but one thing was they didn't make the top bunk bed on most days. This didn't bother us much, but just FYI.

Had complimentary snacks and drinks in the refrigerator, and we were both given a free drink from the lounge. Hotel had an elevator, which was a plus considering the steepness of the stairs.

Overall, would stay here again as a party of 2, but may take room size into consideration if there is a larger group.

We loved the De Ware Jacob. The room was large with wonderful light, both day and night. There were ample surfaces for two people to spread out books, maps etc. The breakfasts were excellent and although we initially did not sign up for them, did indulge for 3 or our 4 mornings at the hotel. Delicious scrambled eggs! The staff was pleasant and helpful. Great quiet neighborhood but a quick walk to the museums, trams and buses. On Saturday there was a neighborhood market that rivaled any market in France. We definitely hope to return.

The hotel was very easy to find and close to transit. The area is quiet, walkable, and close to Museumplein that includes the Van Gogh museum. I had a single bed room that was the perfect size with a comfortable bed and nice view. Also, the staff were very thorough and helpful with any questions. I'm posting a few picks from the lounge area that was very cozy. I highly recommend and will stay here the next time I visit Amsterdam!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. This small, boutique hotel has a great location if you plan to spend time visiting museums. It's also close to the center, but it's tucked away in a nice neighborhood.

Our 1 bedroom apartment was very clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The floor space was a bit awkward with suitcases so we ended up keeping those upstairs in the kitchen and sitting area as there was no room for them in the bedroom area downstairs.

We actually changed hotels and stayed here on the second half of our trip because it ended up being hotter than expected and the first hotel did not have AC or a convenient way to let in fresh air. The AC worked well and was cold -- when we could use it. It's still connected to a central system and midway through the hotel switched to heating. Thankfully, there were windows that were easy to open. However, our bedroom was effectively in the basement level so there was car noise.
