The doorman, impeccably dressed and brimming with old-world charm, opened the grand doors with a smile that felt as though he had been waiting just for us. As we stepped inside, it was as if the spirit of Christmas itself had taken up residence in the lobby. A magnificent tree glittered, and garlands of greenery draped the entrance in holiday magic.

Tea was served in the beautiful Veranda, a room that looks out onto the private garden—a patch of winter greenery that feels like a secret kept from the bustle of the city. Champagne arrived first, a necessary indulgence for a holiday tea (in my opinion), followed by a delightful little amuse-bouche. The tea menu, with its traditional blends and herbal infusions, felt like a chapter from a book of London’s finest traditions.

The sandwiches, delicate creations with classic fillings, spoke of tradition but whispered a delicious twist of modernity. The scones, accompanied by pots of cream and jam, were perfectly presented on beautiful china. But the pastries were the crown jewels—each one a tiny masterpiece, sweet and lovely, the perfect holiday indulgence.

What truly set The Goring’s holiday high tea apart, though, was its atmosphere. The staff seemed to anticipate our needs without intruding. The pace was unhurried, and the experience felt like something out of a Hallmark Christmas movie or a bygone era.

I’ve visited the dining room yesterday where I had my birthday dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Me and my fiancée felt comfortable from the beginning of our visit. As for the food I can tell that it was excellent and tasty. Also if you love the wine, the wine list is pretty long with remarkable quality wines

Gorgeous service and friendly staff, chatted about the restaurant’s renovation, food explanations, celebrations of my meal.
The Goring egg drumkilbo was stunning, and learnt that it was the favorite dish of Queen Elizabeth.
The scallops and duck were cooked absolutely right.  Their textures were perfect.
The chestnut cream with blackcurrant jelly was too sour to me. And felt like the strong taste of sour jelly dominated the taste of delicious chestnut cream, which the chestnut cream itself was great.
The overall experience was amazing.  Not surprised this is with Michelin distinction. Happy to visit again.

My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary there. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the beef Wellington was really good! Really recommend (£120), for starters we got the scallop (10/10) and the lobster (8/10). Highly recommend, a wonderful night.
