Where do we start? The ingredients were fresh. The sushi rice was perfect. The shop was modern and efficient in the sense that they need to move people, but the staff was polite, attentive, and warm. The misoshiru alone made my husband weep. We ate total of 5 sets today and plan to go back next week. We arrived a little before 11am, and the wait was about 20 minutes.

The most delicious sushi and miso soup. Freah fish and rice ratio was perfect. Miso soup was so flavorful and had all these clams.  Staff was efficient and the place was clean with plastic dividers. I wish I could go back.

One of the best sushi gem in Osaka. The sushi rice was nicely rolled and kept warm, and all the fish served were extremely fresh. I enjoyed every bite of them.

Side note, they are very strict about finishing everything you order and they do not allow video-ing your own food. Only photos allowed.

We waited in line on a cold winter morning at 6:30am and the staff was nice enough to come out and pass around hand warmers to every group. There was quite a line and on New Year's Eve they capped off the line at about 7:45am to close for the day, understandable. The fish was very fresh and was of good quality, there's not much more you can ask for. The sushi selection comes in flights of 5 by picking plate #1-4 however you can ask for substitutions. The miso soup was very unique in that it had clams which gave a nice complexity and appeased my salt level preference. The staff were fairly accommodating and took our orders that we placed in English, so we appreciate that. It's not the cheapest place in Osaka, but also not outrageous.

We've had sushi 3 different times on this trip: 2 times in Tokyo and 1 time here at Endo Sushi in Osaka. Unfortunately this was our least favorite sushi restaurant. We arrived at 9:15am on a Monday and there was no wait. It seats about 19. We sat at the counter. The menu consists of 4 different sets of 5 sushi, all 1300 yen + 10% tax. You order the sets by the number 1-4. We ordered all 4 to share among my partner and I + 2 x miso soups at 350 yen each + 10% tax. Total came out to 6490 yen = $43 USD which is actually more than what we paid at the first 2 sushi restaurants that we went to that was far more superior to Endo. Cash only. Service was alright. It was fast. There is no filming allowed, not even your food. You can only take photos. We sat at the counter. None of the sushi chefs looked friendly or happy to see us. Another staff was hovering behind me, maybe making sure I'm not filming? Of the 4 sushi sets, we liked maybe 4-5 pieces out of 20 pcs. My fav were the toro and hotate. Nothing else really stood out, it was mediocre at best. Definitely had better uni and salmon elsewhere. Sushi rice was a bit mushy. We did like that they only give a little of it. Miso soup had a lot of baby clams and Japanese ginger and was a bit salty. We should have just ordered 1 to share. Or skipped all together. We left at 9:35am and there was still no wait. We took a taxi here. Didn't want to walk that far from a station. Overall, not worth a return visit or trip and we don't recommend this place.

Fresh sushi at the fish market, reasonable prices, friendly staff? What more could you ask for? This is a spot we have to go to multiple times when we're in Osaka because it is just that good. How it works: - Hope there isn't a line (in all likelihood, there will be a line). Sit in the chairs out front in numerical order to get in the line. No sign in sheet or anything. - Select any of the 4 sushi plates they have. 1300 yen + 10% tax for each plate you order - You can get as many as you'd like and as many as you'd eat - You can swap out one piece per set with anything except for fatty tuna aka toro All of the plates are delicious, but I would especially recommend the first and the second plates. Everything is extremely fresh and the staff is very polite and takes pride in their service. Clam miso soup is also delicious. Highly recommend

Okay. Trust the reviews for this one. The omakase is cheap but extremely delicious. Honestly, you probably can't get fresher sushi when they get the fish right from the fish market and probably the same day!!! The service was okay. As a foreigner here, I just need the servers to speak English. They are super nice too. Again, the toro sushi here are to die for. Not to mention the price, the sushi here already beat 99% of the sushi restaurants in Seattle. If you consider the price here, I would probably come here everyday if I work in Osaka. It's like $20 for 5 pieces high quality of sushi. Also the miso soup is freaking delicious. It's super hot tho.

Besides the uni, everything else here was really good and VERY reasonably priced! The uni (at least when we went here) was not very fresh. They offer 4 different plates - each one comes with 5 pieces of nigiri. And at the current exchange rate each plate comes out to be just $8! It actually wasn't crowded when we went and we didn't get there all that early. But it's probably cause tourism had only just opened up. It's a pretty small space inside sooo would recommend getting there early to be safe! Downside is that this place is kinda in the middle of nowhere buttttt the sushi here is a fantastic value.

One of the best omasake experiences we had while in Japan! This place was highly recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. Since we were still adjusting to the time change, we ventured to the Osaka Fish Market at 7am to try this place out. It's about a 15 minute walk from the subway station, but worth it. When we arrived we were seated quickly, since there wasn't a wait. However, about 20 minutes after we were seated there was a crowd waiting outside. We started with plates 1, 2, and 3. Each piece of sushi was fresh, delicious, and you can just taste the quality. Our favorites were the salmon, uni, toro, and anago. Waitress was friendly and service was quick. Cash only. Would recommend.

Endo Sushi is a family-owned sushi restaurant that has been around for over a hundred years and is situated perfectly right next to/inside a wholesale market, Chuo Ichiba (Marketplace). Decided to visit this particular spot because it came highly recommended on Google Map (4+ stars and over 1000 reviews!), and it absolutely met my expectations. When you enter the shop you'll either be given a menu or you'll be directly asked if you want "omakase" (chef's choice); The sushi (primarily nigirizushi style, where the fish is placed on top of a cluster of seasoned rice) comes in a set of five with fish/seafood that is currently in season. When I visited, I had the hamachi (yellowtail) chu toro tuna, tai (seabream), uni (sea urchin), and anago (salt-water eel) (i.e., Plate 1 from the menu pics posted by other reviews on Yelp). The sushi was, in a word, delicious. Everything tasted so fresh, the slices of fish were THICC and so tender--I feel comfortable saying that this might very well be some of the best sashimi I've ever had, anywhere. Standouts included the uni--so buttery and generously portioned--and the tai--very chewy and plump. One plate will run you about 1300 yen, and it's another 300 yen + tax for the aka-dashi miso soup. Supposedly their menu lists four different plates featuring different assortments of nigirizushi (see other reviews). You can also ask the staff to omit wasabi/inform them of any dietary restrictions you may have. And speaking of staff, they were very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, greeting each customer as they came in and went, and overall the store had a very cozy, quiet, and clean atmosphere. (Careful COVID measures in place as well.) It's worth noting that the store is a little tricky to find at first. It's not very obviously positioned, so just walk straight through the main gate of the marketplace into the parking lot, and you'll spy a little island with a few restaurants smack in the middle of the parking lot (the restaurant is outside of the covered area with the vendor stalls). Also, Endo Sushi is open for business primarily in the morning (6:15am-ish to around 1pm). If you come around noon, expect crowds; I visited around 9am on a Friday morning and was lucky to find no line and few customers in the shop. So plan accordingly! TL;DR: Rise and shine and come here early in the morning for incredibly fresh, thick slices of seasonal sushi at very reasonable prices.

From my recent trip to Japan, I would have to say - this is the *BEST* sushi we've had from all the cities we've visited. I'm not entirely surprised since Endo Sushi is pretty much right next to the Osaka Fish Market. Let me tell you that everything tastes so fresh, and the flavors are absolutely AH-MAZING. The menu is pretty simple, you can choose from 4 different Omakase sets. I highly recommend #1 and #4. #1: consists of anago (sea water eel), uni, sea bream, toro, and hamachi. Holy shoot man, everything is so good! I cannot really describe the amazing taste of their uni, but it was totally out of this world, tbh. The toro is fatty and delicious (5/5) #4: consists of salmon, salmon roe, calamari, fatty tuna and halfbreak. The salmon was really yummy, but my favorite surprise was the roe. Honestly, roe has never been a favorite of mine in the US, but after tasting roe here in Japan, I have changed my mind and became a fan of roe now! Thank you Endo for converting me to a roe fan. The taste of the roe is absolutely amazing, and they pop so fresh in your mouth! (5/5) I recommend coming here in the morning on a weekday because there isn't much of a line. There are restrooms outside (but Japanese style), so make sure to bring your hand sanitizer and handkerchief. Highly recommend Endo!

What a great sushi place! I wish we had discovered this restaurant sooner rather than on the last day of our stay; We would've visited multiple times! There are 4 options for omakase. The prices were so cheap, we couldn't resist trying them all! The fish quality was amazing and was some of the best sushi we had in Japan. Presumably from the Osaka's fish market right next door, the prices were a steal for the quality. You're allowed to substitute (1) piece in each set, with the exception of toro. Each piece really just melts in your mouth. Do also get the miso soup! It's fantastic and comes with a lot of clams at ~$3. Like most places in Japan, the restaurant is very small with maybe 3 tables + bar. Don't miss out on this little gem. I can't wait to revisit when I'm back!

TL;DR: Fresh, reasonably-priced sushi restaurant tucked away in the corner of the Osaka Fish Market. For someone with a horrible sense of direction, I somehow managed to figure out that the entrance is on the back side of the ramp as you walk into the plaza. There's no graceful path to walk to the restaurant, as some jaywalking was required. This is a long-winded way to say that it's worth the effort in finding this spot. When I got to the tiny sushi restaurant at 9:15am on a Saturday, there were 6 people ahead of me in line. There's no sign-in sheet system, so less than 15 minutes later, I inched to the front of the line. I could have been seated had my party been there with me. Because of the simple prix fixe sushi plates (priced at ¥1,050 + 8% tax), turnovers are impressively quick. The restaurant is small, though can accommodate several 4-person parties, as well as the bar. I ordered Maze #1, and then the scallop and crab leg sushi a la carte. Although every piece was incredibly fresh and tasty, the Hamachi, Anago and Tai were my favorites. The service was outstanding, and as I suspect many tourists have successful discovered this spot, the service staff is able to communicate just enough in English.
