One of the better Italian restaurants in Asia for sure. The chef and front of house are both Italian. They made a ready good old fashioned. The melon prosciutto salad was great, well balanced. I had a filled pasta dish which was super yum. Tiramisu was perfect for sharing and the limoncello capped off a great evening. Highly recommend!!!!

We visited this establishment after a Google search, and it displayed them closing at 10 PM. We entered at 9:08 PM, assuming that would leave a comfortable margin, with only a party of three with us present. Straightaway, however, we saw that we did not receive a warm welcome. The one whom we assumed to be a manager visibly bristled at our presence, even rebuking the man who opened the door for us.

He immediately informed us that 9:15 PM was closing time for ordering food. That was cutting it a little too close, but we hoped to order in a timely enough manner. Grumbling, they sat us down. After such a rude welcome, we breathed a sign of relief when, at approximately 9:45 PM, the food actually arrived and it was terrific. We ordered three pizzas and three root beers, and all of it was excellent.

But at 10:01 PM—a minute past closing time—the staff wasn’t shy about informing us that they no longer wanted us around. Lights were turned off, and even the air conditioning was switched off. It was an unnecessarily abrupt and unfriendly end to an otherwise good meal. We, of course, hadn’t finished eating yet as it had only been 15 minutes. We just had everything packed for us to leave instead.

Good food, but service and hospitality could have been a lot better.

went there for lunch at 2pm! was almost empty so we enjoyed dining in peace. We enjoyed all the dishes and the service was really good as well. Will definitely come back! ⭐️

Mangiamo is an incredible homey Italian cafe in the middle of Salcedo Village that matches fine dining places twice as expensive. It took over the spot where Tsumura was for decades, beside Paseo Center. It is an authentic, no frills, traditional cafe, complete with a Milanese chef who comes out every so often and Massimo the Italian manager who has lived in the Philippines for over 20 years. Everything is simply homey and incredible. The fresh pasta paired with traditional and slightly different twists is something to come for (the cream crab pasta is one of the very best), as is the homemade tiramisu (order 3 days ahead of the extra large sizes). The pizza is rustic, all the way to burrata and spinach and cheese. The mains are outstanding, from veal to chicken and vegetables, except I never even get to the mains unless with a large group. Mangiamo is a homey Italian cafe I literally come back to and order something different each time without getting bored or underwhelmed. It beats every other Italian choice in the area like Pablo, with only Crosta able to match for pizza. A hidden gem that opened about May 2024, get in before more people find it!

Whether you're on a date or have a private event for a small group of people, mangiamo is perfect if you're looking for excellent authentic Italian food. My personal favourite from them is their pasta carbonara. I also tried the steak and it was pretty good.

They have another branch in Baguio at a hotel which is also pretty nice.

2 things I don't like are the toilets which are outside the restaurant and the lack of parking as it's at a busy area of Salcedo village. There's a car park across the building but it's always full. Oh yeah, you also need to go through a building lobby and go up one floor.
