Always a good time. The wife says this is her favorite restaurant in Singapore.

Food: familiar, cozy, yet with splashes of surprises here and there. Cacio e pepe inspired porridge… with a splash of achar emulsion??? Chicken broth with some sorta custard and clams with blots of chili oil. Mutton with shisho leaf. And that painstakingly prepped salmon.

Staff (well, it’s a small crew) - warm, and can be chatty if you bother to engage with them. Bonus: if you’re a nerd about cooking/kitchenware, the chef is a blast to talk to (even if he gives off the tormented jaded artist vibes heh heh heh heh).

Also did I mention: their wine mark ups are actually damn reasonable (never thought I would say this about a Singaporean restaurant)

No but seriously. Spot is solid. Wife loves it. Can’t complain.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Restaurant Ibid, and I can confidently say that it is truly amazing.

Chef Wai Leong and his staff were friendly, attentive, and engaging throughout the meal. They often struck up good and hearty conversations to keep us entertained while whipping up a feast. No doubt, all the food served was simply delicious, fresh, and innovative. The dishes offered a good blend of Western and Asian tastes, nothing overwhelming, but rather each ingredient complemented the others.

My partner booked us a night here for my birthday and wow, he couldn’t have chosen a better restaurant.

The food is simply delicious. The tasting menu features unique combinations of ingredients that impress.

While other similarly priced restaurants might justify their prices with the usual expensive ingredients like Uni/caviar/japanese wagyu etc, Ibid opts to let their flavours do so. We particularly enjoyed the Japanese tomato, Century egg, and the Tofu and Pecorino Congee dishes.

The service and hospitality is top notch. It felt like a private dining experience - we sat counter-side and not only observe the Chefs at work but also converse with them. This made the whole experience a personal and memorable one. We’ll definitely be back.

It's a lovely cosy set up and allows wonderful interaction with the chefs. Elex is observant and thoughtful whenever he approaches you. Chef Woo is enthusiastic to share more about the dishes prepared which is both insightful and interesting. Ibid serves their own take on food which piques your curiosity and makes you look forward to the next dish. It was a memorable night, thanks Team Ibid!

Truly one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. Beyond the food being delicious and incredibly innovative, the chefs were super engaging and eager to chat. It felt like dining at a friends house. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a unique fine dining experience at a relatively reasonable price. Has the look and feel of a Michelin starred restaurant.
