This is the main shopping and dining street in Insadong. Many of the businesses are geared to tourists, with shops selling souvenirs and cafes serving traditional Korean beverages. The street itself can get busy during the afternoon, and the while there are many restaurants, they also seemed to get very busy. I enjoyed the variety of food and shopping options with a tourist-friendly atmosphere. This is also located only a few blocks from Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gyeongbokgung Palace, so it's super convenient. However, I feel this street is a little overrated, especially compared to other nearby neighborhoods. To me, it lacked some charm and character. I found Ikseondong Hanok Village (which is right in the next neighborhood to the east) to be more attractive and less crowded. Insadong Culture Street is still worth visiting if you're from out of town, but I enjoyed other areas better.

Located at Insa-dong, Jongno District, Seoul, South Korea 🇰🇷.
This is a cultural street filled with permanent shops, street stalls and restaurants. We went during the day and came back during the night for another look, it’s much busier during the night. There’s lot’s to see and do in walking distance. It’s very popular with tourists and locals. There is such a lovely range of shops and stalls to look at selling so many different things, like shoes, clothes, souvenirs and food etc. There’s also art galleries, traditional tea houses, and shops selling lovely Korean crafts, arts and calligraphy. It’s a creative, colourful and happy place. You can get some wonderful souvenirs or gifts that are authentically Korean. The people are so friendly and welcoming, helped make our visit so much more pleasant. I bought some things like a scarf and a bracelet to take home from my visit to Seoul. There’s plenty of little cafes and restaurants around to have something to eat. There was some wonderful street performers also. Lovely to watch and enjoy. The blend of history and the wonderful vibrant atmosphere helped make my visit to Insa-dong a really special and memorable experience. I highly recommend that you take at least 2-3 hours to fully explore and enjoy this fascinating place. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thumbs Up!!!👍👍👍

Many shops here close early.

Anguk is home to the Constitutional Court of Korea, so recently, there have been a lot of protests due to ongoing social issues (as of April 2025).

There’s plenty to see, and I recommend taking a stroll and checking out the beautifully displayed hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) along the streets.

Restaurants here tend to be on the pricier side, so I usually go elsewhere for a meal. (For reference, I’m Korean!)

Cultural street filled with lots of cafés, shops and food stalls. Walking through here was part of our daily routine and always stopped to pick up something small, from snacks and coffee to souvenirs as well. Moderate amount of people during lunch and more busy during the evening hours. Plenty to eat and nice decorations during the winter season. People were very friendly and not far from other main attractions in Seoul.

This street somehow sells different kinds of stuff, such as clothes, shoes, souvenirs, food, etc. I can walk here almost like 2 hours. Whoa, man. They are crowded at this place. I bought myself some clothes, but the majority of the time I am just looking around. I am really having a wonderful experience in here.
