Welcome to the italian quarter, you are now in the heart of this small district in Dublin, the perfect place to go for a coffee or a pizza with wine. Forget the pizza, let´s focus on the coffee. Cagliostro is an small coffee shop with a great plaza in front of the venue, that is amazing in the sonny days. You will find a quite mystical guy drawing on the floor with pastels, a big picture on the wall that remembers Leonardo Da Vinci and an excellent coffee, with good pastries. Everything with italian taste, so much that if you close your eyes, you can hear the gondolas navigate on the Liffey.

Love their outdoor area. Plenty of tables in a quiet area where one can enjoy the "breakfast of champions": coffee and smokes. Usually end up drinking way too much coffee when I come here as their proper Italian cups and friendly service makes it hard, if impossible, to leave.

I'm a big fan of this coffee shop because it takes me to a warmer place. Having coffee here reminds me of the time I spent in Italy. Almost everyone who works here is Italian and the coffee and food strike me as also being authentic. However, the prices are definitely not genuine, being a tad expensive. Expect to pay around 5 Euro for anything on the menu. The last time I frequented Cagliostro, I had a wonderful Margherita pizza and a creamy latte. Part of the appeal of Cagliostro is its outdoor seating. Situated in Dublin's popular Italian quarter, its terrace is the prime spot to watch people go by. And if the sun is out, you can spend hours sipping your coffee without worrying that you're overstaying your welcome.

This place has become my go-to northside coffee shop for four solid reasons: 1) great coffee 2) great service 3) great outdoor seating-I miss this in Dublin 4) I feel so groovy when I hang out inside and listen to the italian counter staff speaking italian. So come by, hang out, write some poetry or debate the highly blasphemous-but-clever mural of the last supper that spans the long wall along the seating area. Maybe the guy at the next table who kept saying "This is is my blood, rich and caffeinated" might have been taking it a biiiiit far. Bottom Line: Naaaaaaaaah.

Whopper little spot! I sat here the other day and managed to do accomplish the impossible - sit in the sun WHILST on my laptop. Managed to find just the right spot which enabled me to bask in the lovely white ozone killer rays, while my laptop got to bask nicely in the shade. They also have wifi, accessible outside, and a perfect people watching spot. I ordered a peppermint tea, my accomplice ordered a flat white. His was exceptional, he said, mine was grand. (more teabags, sigh!) I also got a chicken salad which was LOADED with chicken, artichokes, Italian cheese and tomatoes. It was lovely - my only gripe would be that the artichokes had come out of the fridge and the chicken had been heated, so I had to let it sit for a while to allow them to mesh into a palatable temperature. Either way, this is a deadly little place to watch the world go by, do some work, or just chill with a nice coffee.

It's OK. The quality of the bread was poor.. possibly frozen as mine was soggy underneath. So either frozen or they spilled something on it. The mozzarella was like rubber. For two sandwiches and 2 small coffees the bill came to €17.50. For that I would expect a bit of a side salad or something. Coffee was good so it gets two stars. Wouldn't go back for food tho'

This might be a bit odd for a coffee-addict but even though they make fantastic coffee at Cagliostro's I usually come here for the hot chocolate. Lots of different flavours- white hot chocolate anyone?- and very well made. It's a very small place, there are only about 4 tables inside but in summer they have another 15 or so tables outside under an ironic mural of the last Supper. If you're a big fan of Italian desserts, try their cannoli or if you can get it Tiramisu- it'll change your life! The staff are Italian and they are really friendly and always have a smile for someone who is trying to improve their Italian.

Fantastic outdoor seating, very artistic venue with an irony touch. The cafe has this warm, cosy italian atmosphere from the inside which kindda contrast with the exceptional outdoor seating which has a huge painting of their own cool version of the "last super". I usually go there for a machiatto every morning and I have tried few of their cakes and they are quite good. I really enjoy their coffee and I would suggest this cafe for those seeking a nice venue that get them into reading or sketching mood with a lovely cup of tea or coffee.

After visiting on different occasions I'm positively impressed by this lovely, casual caffe. If you're looking for a quick, reasonably priced but also tasty and comforting lunch this is the perfect spot. For €7 you get a soup+panino and for €6 a panino+hot beverage. The staff - many, if not all, Italian - aren't overtly amicable right from the start, which is perfectly normal outside of Ireland, so try not to read this particular trait as rudeness. They're polite and attentive enough in their service. It's an easy-going, almost languid, place where you can just sit without having to hurry after you finished your pastry or drink. The coffee is not too bad at all, and, even better, it's served in the correct size cup and with the right spoon (I can't help but notice it, it's deeply ingrained in my lusitanic mind after years of coffee-for-every-occasion-drinking). Also, if it's not raining, you can enjoy sitting outside, by the cool Last Supper wall. Bonus points if it's sunny, go crazy and just pretend you're in Italy... albeit during the autumn/winter. On display inside, there are mouth watering cheeses and cured meats that you can pick and mix for a panino or even a small platter. On the shelf above you'll find the tarts and cakes, try to resist them if you can... I can assure you they taste even better than they look. The drink selection may seem a bit exotic, offering items like Santal and SanPellegrino fruit juices, but I guess it makes perfect sense in an Italian caffe. Everything's genuine here. So go, enjoy, and finish your meal/coffee the right way, with a Baccio!
