We stopped by for some dessert as this place was very close to our stay in Barcelona. It is an unpretentious Japanese cafe serving traditional comfort food. The menu was handwritten and very authentic. The matcha cake was rich but not heavy. It was really good. I also got an Earl Grey float. This is perfect after a long day of walking.

This Japanese spot is hidden in the basement of a side alley. Excellent set lunch with 3 courses which is terrific value for money. I had the udon noodles which were delicious and not too soft like many other places. Don't skip the dessert, they make some fine bakes and cakes that are well worth the calories. Interior is quite spacious and the staff are very attentive.

When looking for places to eat, I noticed a lot of Japanese restaurants in Barcelona. I decided that I must search for a shop that has matcha lattes and that's how I came across Usagui. I made my fiancé walk two miles in the opposite direction of all the local attractions so that I can get a latte. The shop is super adorable and hidden from the Main Street. We had to walk down a few stairs to get into the cafe. The cafe is very dim, so I would not recommend this cafe as a place to study. However, it is very quiet, so if lighting is not an issue for you then this would be a great place to get work done. They also have desserts and food items, but I did not order anything else since we were headed to dinner. I did notice they didn't have much selection, so they may have sold out of most items. I ordered a hot matcha latte and my fiancé ordered a cold one. The hot matcha latte comes unsweetened with two different types of sugar that come with it. They use a whisk for the matcha. The iced matcha latte comes sweetened and was delicious, but there was only a few sips before it was gone. The staff members spoke to me in Spanish/Catalan and the menu is in Japanese and Catalan, so I'm not sure how well they speak English. Overall, I enjoyed this cafe and wish I had more time to spend here.

Extremely cute, quiet little japanese place with incredible food and delicious sweet treats. Ambience is quiet, relaxing and service could not be better - attentive, caring without being too interruptive. It's kind of tricky to find authentic japanese places in Barcelona due to the amount of japanese venues that opened lately, but this place is as true as it gets. The price is more than acceptable for the quality of the items and the menu is quite varied - I went with a group of friends and we tried the japanese burger with rice , the katsu don and the gyozas. Everything was just so, so good and cooked to perfection. Also, a special mention to both the matcha latte and the matcha pie because they're the best I've ever tried - look at the pretty pictures! Once visited, I talked with lots of barcelonians about this place and it seems to be a favourite for locals, it is becoming quite well-known. Go to this place and enjoy!!!

This cute little basement restaurant is cool. I had a menu-del-dia that included noodles in curry. It was super flavourful. Staff are super friendly. The big thing to come here for is the desserts. Tempted to go just for that.

Words can't describe the vibes one can get from this place. Green tea is just the start. Underground location with nice lighting and amazing variety of mixed fusions with green tea and the food is also a plus but more than anything the people cater to you and everything was great. Just as long as you promise not to leave without eating their green tea/choco cake. One of the best and most unique cakes of the world

This place is very good except for one thing. I got a lemon and ginger tea for 2.70€ and asked for a refill of hot water. When I went to pay they charged me an extra euro for the water. That has never happened to me before at any place I have had tea, they didn't tell me when they brought the water, and it doesn't say anything about an extra charge on the menu.

This little place serve the best match latte in town! They have a big selection of delicious pastries and cakes and their Udon dishes are by far the best I've tried in Barcelona. The service is excellent and the waiter is extremely attentive and over all this place has become one of my favourite spots in the city!

A lovely place with lovely employees. They are closed on Mondays. Sometimes there is no place to sit. Also I recommend the cakes.

Best Japanese in Barca... We had Gyoza to start, followed by Udon & Japanese style Hamburger for mains.. And for dessert - you really can't go wrong..
