Food was alright, nothing surprising, most of the food on the Michelin guide pictures weren’t available on the current menu.
Service was lovely. However, the waiting time for the food was not great. We waited 40 minutes for starters and another 30 minutes for our main (burgers and fish and chips).

We arrived at 5pm on Friday and parked right in front of the restaurant. There were diners in already and the bar area was busy. We were shown to a table and water provided and drinks order taken. We had booked the taster menu so there was a set menu. We got the drinks and soon after the snacks arrived. Pate on biscuit  and trout in pastry cases. We were then served with a fabulous loaf of bread, cheese and leek flavoured with mushroom flavoured butter. We then met Dean Banks himself who explained the taster menu. He then served us the rest of the meal, explaining each course. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Had a coffee to finish.

We arrived at 7pm on a saturday whilst the football was playing and place was full. By 8pm the whole restaurant was empty and the atmosphere was poor.

Our food was nice but I wouldn’t rush back or really recommend for the price and menu choices.

The only thing that saved our experience was the service which was great.

We were a party of 12 in the upstairs private room for my mums retirement dinner and we had the most memorable evening with fantastic food, drinks and service. The team were super accommodating ahead of the gathering and communicated about our pre order. Everything went so smooth and everyone’s food was prompt, correct, hot and delicious. Couldn’t fault it at all and everyone commented on how lovely the room was and how great the food was. It was our first time here and we will all be back very soon. Thank you so much to the excellent front of house hosts, chef & kitchen team. Top class and highly recommended!

Lovely local pub. It looks just like any other from the outside, but the insides are very nicely decorated, warm, and inviting. We were taken to a table and placed our order. The Sunday two course special ( Sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding) and fish and chips. Both plates that came to the table were of huge portions, the roast was juicy, succulent, tasted really nice and cooked perfectly but as it was off a joint if you don't like your meat pink then ask for something else. The cauliflower and cheese sauce, shredded cabbage, roast potatoes, and carrots that came with the roast again, cooked perfectly and were really tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious. It was a nice piece of fish with crunchy batter. The mushy peas could have been a bit mushier, and the chips were a bit dry on the outside but light and fluffy on the inside. There is a 10% service charge added onto the bill. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented. They asked how our meal was and if we would like anything else, and we noticed once a customer left the table, it was immediately cleaned, disinfected, and set up ready for the next customer. Fantastic service from the servers, they are a credit to the establishment. The toilets were clean and tidy, watch when using the taps in the Gents, the water pressure is quite strong this combined with the small sinks does tend to shoot the water up and over onto the floor, or over you if you are not careful. This is a dog friendly establishment. Good food, fantastic service, well done.
