Well situated centre close to the calm water in the Basin. Watercraft are kept securely in the enclosed area at the side of the lock. There are slalem poles in the basin to test the students.

Shadwell Basin is one of my favourite place to go and relax. It is located in the residential area in Shadwell not far from the tube station. The basin is surrounded by picturesque buildings and an old red bridge that makes the landscape more attractive. People go there to walk, run and make exercice. I personally love taking pictures and admiring the different types of birds that live in the lake. Furthermore, there are lovely paths along the river from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of London. I would definitely recommend a visit in this unique place full of charm.

Apart from swimming in the summer, which is not allowed. There’s not much to do. Maybe a place to buy a coffee at a sandwich won’t hurt, if the residents agree..
It’s a nice place to take a stroll thought.
