Fantastic lunch at Palmerston.

Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.

Atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was stunning.

Beer, cocktails and wine all tasty and a they have a wide and extensive offering.

Finally, the food was absolutely sublime. Cannot recommend a visit to The Palmerston enough!

A must visit for anyone in Edinburgh.

Well cooked lamb and great soup. The dinner menu is somewhat difficult to read and a bit specific, but the food was very good. Service was decent.

I would recommend this restaurant for a night out. Portions were decent and priced reasonably. A bit of a nice dinner in pretty casual environs.

The food was pretty decent, although i do wish that there was more pasta in my dish, it felt like the proportions were a little off. The lamb shoulder was tender and delicious.

The price point is on the higher end, so do expect to fork out a bit more cash here.

One of the best starters I’ve had in a while. Such great flavours.

The set lunch is a steal and all the food was prepared very well.

If I were to describe my experience at The Palmerston in two words it would be: incredibly underwhelming

Where to start, I heard fantastic reviews about this place from the internet and from food critics around Edinburgh. The word on the street was this was Edinburgh’s chefs favorite restaurant. I was incredibly excited to try the food here during my 2 week trip to the UK. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

Now I don’t want to be too hard on them, the cocktails and appetizers were very good but it’s the entrees that fall completely short. I ordered the Kid Crépinettes with mash and cabbage and my partner ordered the Roasted Pork Shoulder with celeriac and bitter lettuce. The Kid Crépinette was probably the most disappointing due to it being very bland and gristly. Traditionally they are coated with melted butter and then tossed in breadcrumbs before sautéing or grilling. This felt like it was maybe formed and just put into the oven for 10 minutes. No hint of truffle or any significant flavor. As for the roasted pork shoulder, you would have thought it was a grilled pork loin with how tough and flavorless it was. Usually roasted pork shoulder means fall apart tenderness and flavor but this was tough.

The only redeeming factor about the meal was the appetizers, cocktails and the wonderful service who did not charge us for the poorly made dishes. This all being said I would consider giving the Palmerston a second chance if I was in Edinburgh again in the future but I couldn’t help leave my thoughts on a dining experience I was very much looking forward to.

Detta var fantastiskt, om du inte tittade ut genom fönstret skulle du ha trott att du var i Frankrike. Tillbringade ett underbart par timmar njuta av fantastisk mat med fantastisk personal och en vacker omgivning, vänligen ge detta ett försök, du kommer inte att bli besviken

Även på £ 21 för förrätt och huvud den inställda lunchen är dåligt värde. Förrätt var en hög med dressad och riven Kohlrabi med ett underkokt kokt ägg plonked ovanpå utan försök till någon presentation. Huvudrätt var överkokt tagliatelle som simmade i grå lammfärs. Riktigt nedslående mat delvis lösas in av bra Service och bra värde vin.

Maten var trevlig nog, men portionerna var mycket små för det utpressande priset som debiteras. Servicen var helt okej. Ytterdörren lämnades öppen vilket gjorde det ganska kallt inne, och totalt sett var upplevelsen inte trevlig. Tyvärr kommer jag inte tillbaka.

Jag var i Edinburgh över helgen. Jag såg en influencer rekommendera det här stället, så vi gjorde 12: 30 lunchbokningar. De ringde och bad oss flytta till 3 : 30 , så det gjorde vi. När vi kom fram fick vi reda på att de skulle stänga klockan tre: 30 . Vi beställde snabbt. Restaurang atmosfären var bra - mysigt och modernt. Lammförrätten var god, men betsalladen och sardinerna var båda täckta av för mycket salladsdressing. Vår servitör var vänlig. Jag blev besviken överlag.

Älskade det . Mycket avslappnad , bra mat m bra personal och damen ( manager/sommelier ) var så bra , så hjälpsam och visste sina saker . Åh förresten vinlistan är NUTS ( nötter på ett bra sätt , riktigt omfattande men så rättvist prissatt ( inga typiska 200 - 300 % påslag som så många ställen gör ) Jag har varit igen sedan .

Helt fruktansvärt. Kände mig inte alls välkommen. Fick känna att allt var en olägenhet. Möttes av ett nedlåtande sätt av en av cheferna när jag frågade vilka typer av bakverk vi finns. En mycket dålig upplevelse. Det enda possitive av besöket var Robyn servitrisen som var charmig. Deffinatly skulle inte rekommendera att åka dit.

För att motverka de par dåliga recensioner som publicerats tidigare hade vi en utmärkt måltid och Service i Palmerston ikväll. Clam tillstånd hade djup och karaktär. Kanin var utsökt. Gick för chokladmousse på rekommendation av vår servitör och blev inte besviken. Bra värde också. Gå och ignorera begrudgers!

Service kall, nästan varje medlem såg olycklig, detta ger hela stället en dålig känsla. Servicen inte uppmärksam och gjort för dålig upplevelse. Mat, några rätter intetsägande och underväldigande, en mycket bra.

Fantastisk mat, mycket snabb, uppmärksam & vänlig Service, gemytlig och livlig atmosfär. Bästa tiramisu jag någonsin har haft! Rekommenderar starkt.

Kom hit för middag med familjen och vilken besvikelse För det första har de inget alkoholfritt förutom sin egen hjärtliga mix. Japp, absolut ingenting. När våra hjärtliga och sodavatten kom var det i ett litet glas. Och bokstavligen två klunkar och du är klar! Allvarligt vem gör det? Kusin och jag beställde lammet som var förvånansvärt gott. Makens oxkind var tydligen utsökt. Kusinens man hade Brill och han sa att det var mycket ömt Maten var utmärkt men servicen var dyster. Servrarna chattade sinsemellan istället för att servera matgästerna. Vår server var exceptionellt sur och uppriktigt sagt gav oss intrycket att hon inte ville vara där. Seriöst inte imponerad av denna plats. Det finns massor av restauranger i Edinburgh

Jag ljuger inte. Vi fick ett presentkort. Tittade på nätet, tyckte inte mycket om menyerna. ... Vi hade SÅ fel. . fantastisk lunch, tre rätter, (inte det fasta priset en) Varje kurs var enastående. 160 pund tre rätter, en flaska italienskt vin och en pint. Bra service.

BRUKADE vara min favorit restaurang - jag raved om det till alla men efter vår senaste erfarenhet kommer jag ALDRIG tillbaka. Mycket lik andra dåliga recensioner - överprissatt, undervärde, fruktansvärd atmosfär, avskyvärd personal, iskallt, maten var inte mättande eller värt priset. Ett enormt fall av ”för stor för deras stövlar” tid att omgruppera och göra Palmerston vad det en gång var

Vi besökte Palmerston som en grupp av 4 nyligen. Jag kan inte förstå varför det är så svårt att få en helgbokning här. Servicen är allvarligt långsam - särskilt om du beställer drycker. Jag var besviken överlag med maten vi hade - med tanke på de premiumpriser som debiteras. Våra förrätter var OK. 3 av oss valde marulk som var mycket dåligt värde. 2 små bitar fisk på en stor benbit. Det såg ut och smakade färglöst och intetsägande. Efterrätterna var rena rånet. 9 pund för en elak skiva bakewelltårta och 8 pund för en skopa glass! ! ! ! ! Vinerna började på 29 pund per flaska. Vi betalade 300 pund för en mycket genomsnittlig måltid. Jag skulle inte rekommendera det. Det finns bättre värde restauranger runt området.

Detta är en restaurang och ett charmigt bageri med en atmosfär av en europeisk bistro. Palsternackssoppan, italiensk bitterbladssallad och toskansk pancettasallad, var mycket trevligt tillagade och var goda. Äppel- och mandeltårtan var utsökt.

Fantastisk måltid på Palmerston. Inrymt i en härlig byggnad, tidigare en bank, men mycket avslappnad och en trevlig buzzy atmosfär. Maten var riktigt bra. Brandade förrätt var utmärkt - bra mängd flagad fisk i en sammetslen krämig potatismix. Hjort- och rödvinspajen för 2 var utsökt (även om det bara var ett bakverkslock, så vissa kan fråga sig Paj) , och Choklad- och Guinness-svamppuddingen avslutade måltiden perfekt. Mycket trevlig flaska chilenskt rött att följa med. En av de bästa måltiderna jag har ätit i Edinburgh.
