This is one of my favorite places in the city! The owners and everyone who works there are so nice, and the food and drinks are INCREDIBLE. Get the banana bread latte, it will change your life. The brunch bagel and meat loaf sandwich are my go-tos, food-wise. This is where I take out-of-town friends to try to convince them to move to Chicago. Until then, more Moonwalker for me! P.S. pro tip: when I'm in a rush, I place my order in advance over the Eate app so it's there waiting for me when I arrive!

09/25/25 - Awesome place. Excellent coffee, pastries, breakfast & lunch sandwiches. Totally cool vibe. I've had their coffee & now their breakfast everything Bagel w/bacon, egg, cheese & spicy & garlic aioli. Excellent sandwich in a cool shop. They have great coffees, pastries & best of all it's kiddy corner to my tai chi school. Will I be back? ABSOLUTELY

I've been here once. I think the breakfast sandwich and coffee was decent and more than what I wanted to spend. However, I find that the prices are similar to other places around the other neighborhoods especially as you venture closer to the lake. It's also one of the few places in the near area. I hear Avondale is "up and coming". I'm starting to believe as I'm new to the area coming from Southport Corridor. I did like the outdoor seating which was peaceful on a Sunday morning. I got a sense that this place definitely has a community vibe and the customers in there appeared to be regulars. I will definitely return to Moonwalker Cafe when I'm in the area... I'm about 2 miles down the road.

Came into this establishment to order myself breakfast ($50 worth), simply asked for ice to fill my water bottle. After the cashier filled it, I asked if I could also get a cup of ice on the side. No big deal right? It's just frozen water!! Owner comes out of nowhere and tells me no, he can't do that because blah blah blah ice machine. I said okay. He then continues to rant under his breath about it, and that's when I say "okay, I heard you! No need to continue on." He then proceeds to get louder and more aggressive over it, I tell him AGAIN that I heard him and how long is he going to go back and forth over water? He then starts to yell and scream and tell me and my partner to get out his establishment. OVER WATER!? The owner was looking to argue and I'm even more confirmed he already painted me as an inconvenience when he seen a black woman asking for anything that wasn't an overpriced hash brown and latte. How dare I come and ask for water after spending $50!!! You'd think if he was having such a bad morning and was looking to throw a fit over condescension, he would make himself a breakfast but I guess I was the one to have to take the force! UPDATE-After leaving this review, owner decided to hex me on instagram by sharing my personal information.

I came here for the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap because Chicago was abuzz about it. It was a good wrap. It did not have croutons, and if it normally does there is a quality control issue. The chicken was good, there wasn't enough Parmesan cheese for my liking but my partner didn't mind the level of parm. I wanted more dressing too. It was a more traditional romaine lettuce. It was good though, just not my preferred type. I also got the cali Bfast burrito with Soyrizo. It comes with a habanero (probably) sauce. It was good, it had hash browns griddle type so it was crunchy which added a great texture to the burrito. It was more of a burrito than most places which are typically just breakfast wraps. The soyrizo was good. Not much seating, but it's a cozy place. There were kids in there, and they have doughnuts and juice.

A new go-to spot for me! I crave the English muffin sandwich. I'm not usually a dark matter coffee fan, but they do it right here! I love their nutso bout you latte (hazelnut and agave) and their banana bread latte. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. There's usually seating either at the tables and chairs or by the windows and parking on the side street. A cozy neighborhood staple!

If you have been searching for Chicago's best breakfast sandwich I have great news for you- the search ends here. The english muffin sandwich weighs about a pound, is the perfect mix of hearty and decadent with a beautiful chimichurri to brighten it up and is priced super reasonably at $11.50- my husband and I literally split one it's so massive. The coffee is great too- don't worry that the food steals the show. Aesthetically the cafe is cute with a handful of seats inside and some outdoor seating as well, and the team working seem to know everyone coming in and have a great repertoire. I'll probably be a regular here too soon enough! Incredible. 10/10. I can't rave about this enough.

It's not the ritz, but this small 10-chair cafe is doing something right. I got a monstrous lox bagel with some seriously tasty coffee. Standing about six inches tall, layered with lox, a garden of arugula, and a deluge of cream cheese, this sandwich was not for the faint of heart. Eclectically decorated and amply staffed with well-meaning folks, I'd say head here if you want a quiet bite to yourself.
