We love having our parties here. Lori is the best. We had 2 parties here. 21st bday and 75th bday. Great location clean and well organized. Huge bar and nice kitchen area. Microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator and sink. Just Bring your own stuff: decorations, food and cleaning supplies. Great price great location. You can use the funeral home parking lot across the street as long as you ask first. Working bathrooms and bar area. Fits 100 people tightly.

My then fiancé and I were on the prowl for a potential wedding venue. I can't remember how we came across Schorsch Village Hall Rental, but it was a top contender. PROS: Affordable at $620 for Saturdays and $520 for Sundays ($200 deposit required at booking). Cost gets you up to 12-14 hours of time (10am-12am on Sat, 10am-10pm on Sun). Can hold up to 100 people standing and about 80 people seated comfortably. BYOF and BYOB - You get to control the food and booze, and there's a kitchen. Off of one of the bus lines that goes down Belmont. CONS: Claims to hold 100 people but it's more like 80 seated, so it was too small for our needs. Limited hours to go and view the property and somewhat slow to respond to inquiries. Limited parking in back and on streets. *the funeral home across the street will let you park there if they aren't busy* Though there is a bus, hours are not ideal and other public trans is limited in the area. The large bar is ideal for setting up a buffet line and they have multiple toilets in the restrooms. There's a stage and your choice of long or round tables, I believe. The basic furniture is included in the cost of the rental. We'll keep it in mind for future events.

We rented this space 6 months ago for our 50th. Laurie and Bob we're awesome throughout the whole process from beginning to the end! We got lucky enough to set up a day before event. As you can see in photos. My 3 nieces decorated the whole place. The food was catered by Marco 's beef on Fullerton and Austin. The finish product was unbelievable. The space was perfect. We would definitely rent here again.

We had baby shower for one of my nieces. Her 2 sisters did all decor. Some food was catered by Marcos Beef on Austin and Fullerton and other food was homemade down to Lechon, tacos, rice and beans. And the best Salsa verde ever made by Tio. Laurie was awesome she was always available and kept us set up to make it look like you see. Pictures don't do justice. Check out this place! We will plan another event soon! Thanks Laurie and Dakota!

Pros: You have complete control over food/beverage (alcohol, and non alcohol) and you can not charge for ANYTHING!! Cons: Dealing with Laurie is the most unprofessional old lady I've ever encountered. She tried to hold our deposit the night of my husband, and I wedding. We took their curtain rod down, and simply turned the curtains so that the interior (white) could show since our colors were white & silver & the curtains are a burgundy, &gold color. Laurie said that the "board" came in the venue, and said we broke the rod which was METAL!! My husband asked that she come over, and take a look to prove we didn't break anything... she refused to look, and only gave a deposit of $200 back until she gets confirmation that the balance could be given. She called the very next day, and said she climbed up the ladder to check it out herself, and she fell (at this point we did not care) When my husband asked for her to come over to look the day prior, she refused. Now she does it alone, and falls from the ladder. i'm not sure what games this lady plays with others, but we weren't for any of the foolishness. Give us our deposit, and let us go about our way. I may still use the venue in the future, but then again not if she is the manager. And she comes into the place with her 200lb dog that was rubbing against our table cloths that was rented. Not knowing what allergies people may have. Overall, get rid of Laurie. She's beyond rude, and condescending towards potential guest.

Clean, affordable and perfect for less than 100 guests. I would recommend reserving with months advance as this place gets booked quick. I would totally reserve it again!

We absolutely loved this place. We are on a budget & were looking for a nice hall rental in an area that wasn't far in the suburbs or too far in the city where there would be an issue with parking. We weren't looking for full-service or anything too fancy or hoity toity. Found this place, as we are familiar with the neighborood. Read the reviews & decided to call. Now you call and you get this message saying exactly what dates are left/available, where to go, what time and what you need as far as a deposit. It's a no frills, no pushy sales person kinda deal. We visited, saw the space and it was EXACTLY what we needed. Kitchen (with a cool skylight, by the way), with chef's stove/oven, microwave & spacious fridge. Huge & spacious bar, small stage/DJ area & enough tables & chairs to comfortably fit the max of 100 people. We paid our deposit, signed a contract and that was it. Great working with Paul - straight shooter, been in the neighborhood for years, so he knows the area. Even gave us a great tip for getting ice for our event! We got the hall for the whole day - from 10am - midnight. What a deal. This gave us plenty of time to set up & decorate. When we arrived, he gave us a quick tour of where everything is, cleaning supplies, how to work the stove, the cooler (don't put ice in there, as there is no drainage!), the ceiling fans, lights (dimmer = awesome!), his emergency contact number, the key, etc. Place was clean and ready to go. What I liked most is that the rear entrance had space for parking (for us & DJ) and once the door closes, there is no handle or key to get back in, loved that. Felt secure. Extra tables & chairs were on hand in case we needed them. The only thing to note, is that we ended the party at midnight, rather than 1130pm or 11pm, so when Paul got there to lock up, he had to wait a bit while we cleared out (sorry, Paul!). We also left behind a portable speaker, which we emailed to inquire if it was there & Jim emailed straight away that he'd forward to Paul. Paul called back the next to let us know our speaker was in good hands. Overall such an awesome experience. We decorated to our liking, the bar was fantastic to work with (that cooler is a huge plus), the space was absolutely PERFECT. Can't wait to host another event there! It will now be our go-to hall for events. Absolutely rent here if you are hosting an event, are in the neighborhood & don't need anything uber fancy. Love it.

My family hosts many parties and this place is fairly priced for its size and use of kitchen and bar. The person in charge, Paul, is dependable,honest and reliable. Everything is always in order and they don't add on extra fees like other places. This is the place to rent! fits up to 100ish ppl
