Jamie W decided on our hotel for a long weekend in New Orleans, and this was his stylish boutique choice. The prime Camp St location turned out to be ideal since it was a couple of blocks south of the French Quarter and a brief streetcar ride to the Garden District. We were within reasonable walking distance to our planned activities like dinners at Emeril's and Willie Mae's and the live music at the Crescent City Blues Festival at Lafayette Square. While the Beaux-Arts building was built in 1906, it didn't become a hotel until 1998 when an enterprising entrepreneur noticed that the smaller boutique hotel market common in London and Paris was underserved. The lobby has a modern sheen featuring Banksy-style art and edgy celebrity portraits. Our $270 per night standard room had a more traditional feel, somewhat dated with minor flaws like a nightstand drawer that didn't close. I was surprised that some amenities were lacking like a safe and a coffeemaker. However, the Queen bed was comfortable and the room spacious enough at 325 square feet. Our room didn't face the street, so there wasn't excessive noise. The front desk staff was polite though the service level was on the middling side. I was scammed by Chris at the front desk. He sold us a tourist service he knew we could not attend, deliberately giving us false information so we would buy it and he could take his commission. What should have been a smooth experience turned into extreme stress, a $118 loss, and wasted time we can't get back. When I raised this with the Manager on duty, she defended him and called it a "mistake." It was not. We spoke with Chris for nearly 30 minutes, clearly explaining our situation. He knew the timing wouldn't work, yet lied and reassured us only to secure the sale. The Manager promised a refund, gave me her card, and told me to email her. I've now emailed her twice with no reply. Five days have passed with complete silence, making me believe she may also be complicit. The hotel itself is fine for price and location, but staff behavior here is unacceptable. Upselling tourists on third-party services for personal commission is not hospitality, it's predatory. The only staff member who showed empathy was the night shift front desk female, who saw what happened but had no authority to help. The Manager has the power to make this right but has chosen to ignore me. One of the worst hotel check-in experiences I've had anywhere in the world.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference earlier summer. Going to break down the pros and cons. Pros: Location-wise, the hotel is within walking distance of many notable sites and restaurants in the NOLA area. If you enjoy small boutique hotels, this may be for you! The service from the staff is pretty good. Chris was very friendly and helped me out a few times. They have nice art in the lobby, and a small Basquiat exhibit in the back, near the elevators. Cons: The rooms are bit dated for me. As a boutique hotel, it could be a bit better. For example, there was no table, even a small desk, or a coffee table to set things on or work at in the room. I work from home and had to go to the lobby to work, which is not convenient to me. Secondly, regarding the rooms, I suffer from severe sinus issues, and there was a consistent mildew smell in my room and on the second floor where I stayed. I was there for a week, and I did notify the front desk about this issue. I was unable to switch my room and they said the smell was due to the sushi restaurant downstairs and going through the vents. However, I disagree; personally, that was not the case. Theres a mildew/moisture issue may be from the carpet, plumbing etc. Some of my colleagues who stayed at the hotel for the conference said the same thing. Overall, this hotel is marketed as a "luxury" hotel but to me it was just ok, nothing exceptional or top of the time to draw me back to stay again. I am returning to NOLA for the same conference next year, but I don't think I will book my stay here. I may choose another hotel.

We recently hosted our 2025 National 811 Liaison Conference at this hotel, and I felt compelled to share our experience. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but the level of service we received here deserves to be recognized. From the moment planning began, the sales staff and management team, especially Amanda and Sophia--were exceptional. They went above and beyond to ensure every one of our attendees had what they needed to fully enjoy the conference. Christopher at the front desk made check-in seamless and welcoming. Abigail, who managed the LOA hotel bar, was not only wonderful to work with, but her hospitality and craft cocktails were the highlight of many conversations among our attendees. We received so many compliments throughout the week that I could hardly keep track of them all. To top it off, the owner of the hotel personally came to speak at our event, a gesture that spoke volumes about the pride and care behind this establishment. Our outside caterer did an excellent job, and the A/V team on site was professional and attentive. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I will be hosting all of our future New Orleans conferences at this hotel for as long as I'm in charge. The experience here rivals some of the finest hotels I've stayed in--on the level of Ritz-Carlton hospitality and service. One note: I didn't sleep particularly well, but that was simply because I'm used to quiet country nights, not city lights. The bed itself was extremely comfortable. If you're considering a location that offers something special, memorable, and truly guest-focused for your conference or event--I along with my wife and 45 attendees, highly recommend this hotel.

Unequivocally the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I had booked a stay for 4 days/3 nights there but when I arrived I was told that the A/C in my room was broken and that I would not be able to stay at IHH and instead have to stay at a different hotel The Eliza Jane and so had to instead head over there at midnight after arriving from my flight. I consistently recieved false information afterwards, initially I was told that my entire stay at Eliza Jane would be covered, then was told it would be only one night and ultimately I ended up having to pay for my stay there at Eliza Jane and my stay at International House, double paying for the nights! I was told that my booking at International House would be refunded since I never even stayed there but have NOT recieved a refund. I had spoken on the phone with many different staff members, including the manager, Leslie, who all consistently lied to me outright. She stated she would send me an email confirming that I would recieve a refund for my stay that never happened and then never sent that email. Then her staff members multiple times said they would call me back informing me of updates and that never happened either. Overall, worst experience I have ever had, the waitstaff were rude, dismissive and condescending and Leslie especially so. I and many other physicians would be coming back to New Orleans quite often for AHA or ACC conferences and I will never be booking with them again and will defintiely recommend against anyone else staying there either.

I booked a double bed room for 3 ppl and they said the computer doesn't go back far enough to my booking date. I ended up with people sleeping the floor. I got 1 bed. They didn't book it properly and they told the company I booked thru that sometimes ppl cancel so they made an assumption that I would be ok with 1 bed. That was embarrassing for me because I planned the trip. They don't have spare roll outs either. I got 1 extra blanket and some extra towels. The hotel was nice the staff was nice and did what they could by giving me a double bed the next day. If you're a couple it's fine if you need 2 beds you safe bed is 2 rooms.

International House Hotel is a boutique hotel, that is located in a great location to all the attractions. The lobby is very comfortable and the decor is beautiful. There's a lounge area with a bar that is amazing. There is a (popular) sushi restaurant that is attached to the hotel. As for the rooms, I feel they could be updated to a more fancier style. But in all, the rooms were still neat, roomy, and clean. We did have an issue with the a/c, but the problem was addressed in a timely manner.

I was in town for a wedding, and was looking for a hotel that had a traditional New Orleans feel to it as opposed to a chain, and International House Hotel definitely delivered! It is centrally located in a very walkable area, and a lot of attractions (and beignets) are within walking distance. When we first arrived, I was impressed by the outside, the lobby, and the bar. Everything looked very upscale, especially for the inexpensive price. The decor was beautiful, and there was an unexpected Banksy exhibit which was really cool. We happened to arrive on a voodoo holiday, and there was a shrine set up in the lobby and an event happening that night. I wasn't able to attend, but it was really cool to see that bit of New Orleans' unique culture. I took off a star because the a/c wasn't working in our room, which I've seen in other reviews. The staff were nice and moved us for our second night, but the first night was pretty warm. The room itself was nice, though! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It's such high quality for what you're paying.

My requests were always met expeditiously. They upgraded my room upon my arrival because the A/C was broken. I loved the room, but there were no hangers in the closet. The shower handle was a bit weird and the water wasn't as hot as I like. The heating was hard to get going. It was actually blowing cold air and made the room colder, which was visible in the declining temperature on the thermostat. I was pretty cold most of the trip and I just ended up turning off the thermostat. The hotel bar was nice with great bartenders. The drinks are a little pricey. The hotel is artsy and beautiful, yet playful with Mardi Gras. I wish they had food or room service. I would totally stay here again. They had free coffee and water!

Horrible service, rude front desk manager (she wasn't wearing a name tag). Our shower wasn't working after we came back from the 100 degree weather. Another guest said they had the same problem and tried talking to some guy at the front desk but he didn't give them any idea of how long it will be or was apologetic. The nasty woman at the front desk said yeah the water goes out, it happens. That was it, no I'm sorry,no idea of how long it'll be or is there anything else I could do for you. The attitudes of the people there including the so-called manager put a damper on this little vacay and we will not be going back. I urge everyone to steer clear from this place where the plumbing doesn't always work, service is terrible and the clerks are rude AF.
