Best darn sandwiches around! Sooooo yummy and a great selection. The place comfortably seats larger families and friends. The service is outstanding. Highly recommend!

I ordered online for a quick meal in the hour I had to eat for teaching a second 2 hour class of the day. My approx time for pick up was 1pm. They have a section near the register where their counter productive and unfriendly signs (see photo) for picking up take out or delivery orders. Their multiple signs at the register seems to show an "attitude" that starts with ownership and is exhibited in the behavior of the staff. The one that got me was "let's me drop everything and work on your problem". Honestly, if I hadn't ordered online and already paid, I would have went elsewhere. I patiently waiting for my meal as people came and gone with their to go meals. I hesitated to ask about my meal because I didn't want the staff to "drop everything to work on my problem", but a few minutes after 1pm I asked the women at the register about meal and I showed her my receipt. She said, "did you tell someone you were here?". I said, "I didn't know I needed to". Immediately she said, you should have let someone know you were here", and hands me my bag that was sitting on a counter getting cold. Why, if the food is made would they not call out the name?? Why did they bother to ask for my name in the online order if they were not going to call my name when I food was done? I don't understand why if someone's food is ready they would not call out the name. I also think their sign makes people not want to address "problems" with the staff because of the preconceived notion that the staff has an attitude. This may or may not be the case, but displaying a sign like this certainly sets an unfriend tone for customers. By the time the sandwich and I got to the office, it was luke warm at best. The time it was sitting on the counter definitely made the sandwich less desirable. There was generous portion of Luke warm roast beef in the sandwich. The Voodoo chips were good and crispy. I would not recommend East Bay Deli unless you want to deal with people that don't believe in treating customers properly. That's the end of review of East Bay Deli. Thanks!

A true local hang out. We were looking for a breakfast place that opened up before 8am. Not sure why so many places don't open till 8am. Anyways this place sits right on the corner. Parking around the building. Walk in and order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Plenty of locals sitting up front eating breakfast and drinking coffee. We had the omelets and hash browns. All good. I had the sweet tea and Bill had coffee. Both good. True local place with local pix and memorabilia.

Excellent lunch spot in North Charleston! I ordered from the buffet and my gosh it was a lot of food! The person behind the buffet creates the plate for you and it generous :) All of the ingredients were fresh and such a great variety. Think: spinach, tomatoes, olives, peperoni, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and so much more. A few friends were with me and had sandwiches and said that their food was excellent. The parking can be tricky and the place was quite busy so plan to get there with ample time (in case there is a wait). The environment was casual. There was a lot of law enforcement personnel since we were near their dept. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

We had a large group and needed a lunch spot while we were leaving Charleston. It was hot and we did not want anything heavy. We opted for East Bay. It was a Saturday afternoon. We walked right in and easily got a table for 15 people. That was nice. I really wanted the salad bar, but it's still not self serve. I do miss that. They have an amazing salad bar, but the staff makes it for you. I chose a sandwich with fries. There was two adults and two teenagers in my group. I was taken back when we all ordered our food and drinks, the total was $76. The food was good, by those prices for a deli? Then my nephew wanted ranch and we were charged for that. Love East Bay but cannot justify almost $20 per person.

I love me some East Bay deli. I especially love their breakfast. I have a thing for corned beef hash, and they serve it at their north Charleston location is such a great place to grab something to eat. I took my daughters one of them out of the French toast the other one ordered the pancakes. We left their full and happy as always. East Bay deli is receiving five stars for the Junior's Chocolate Cake. Bear with me. And no, there are no photos because I dug in with the quickness. Imagine four layers of moist chocolate cake with chocolate ganache between each layer. You see how large the slice is so you try to be greedy and indulge, but you can't finish it all in one setting. You get home and put it away in the fridge for round two tomorrow. Junior's: 1, You: 0. The next day comes and you're ready!! You take the first bite and it's better than the first bite on the first day!!! Who knew that was even possible?! $9.85 +tax for a small piece of Heaven is worth it. Never had cake so good in my life.

I needed to pick up something quick to take home for lunch and I noticed this East Bay Deli location across the street. They're kind of like a Mcalisters but started locally here in Charleston. I've had hit or miss experiences with other locations before, but decided to give it a try. Right away I noticed that half the tables were blocked and they were doing proper social distancing. I was about to place an order a french dip when I noticed a specials board with a meatball sub and made a sudden change of plans. I switched out the mozz for american cheese because as Tabitha Brown would say... that's my business. I went straight home all excited because I'd been craving a good meatball sub for a while. I would say it was a winner in every way, but the bread wasn't fresh. It was a late lunch but, the bread for sandwiches should still be soft and chewy. It wasn't completely stale or anything, but it definitely detracted from the quality of the sub. I might give it another try but will have to inquire about the bread first next time.
