What an incredible stay!  I am so glad we picked the Celestine for our first visit to Kyoto.  First off, the shuttle pick up at the train station was very convenient.  The warm and inviting welcome was a treat.  They ushered us to the lobby and brought us tea and a hand towel while they checked us in.  The room was so bright and thoughtfully designed.  Everything had a place and a purpose. My only feedback regarding the room is that it would be nice to have a place to sit while you put your sneakers on since they don’t want shoes in the room.  It’s hard to do that in the small entryway.  Other than that, breakfast was good, the service was impeccable and the location was perfection. We loved being in Gion and having access to the neighborhood while staying in such a peaceful location.  Used the onsen twice and I was the only person there.  This hotel is beyond 4 stars in my opinion.  Absolutely loved it and would definitely come back!  Thank you for the most amazing stay!  Well done!

Great hotel in heart of Gion.

Wish they had designated smoking areas outdoors for their smoking customers, that would greatly improve and ease it for your smoking guests. The hotel smoking room is very claustrophobic.

Other than that, can not fault it. Very pleasant.

Great onsen, big clean rooms, attentive service, and great massage by Yuko for my mom.

Breakfast could get some work done on with some more variety and quality, but over all it was nice👌

An amazing hotel with great location. Such an easy walk to some of the best ramen and other restaurants in Kyoto. Facility is immaculately kept and staff are very friendly and accommodating. On our last day of the stay, they held a concert for guest including a maiko (geisha apprentice) coming out for pictures. I would definitely stay here again and again!

The service at the hotel is excellent, there's a real intent to delight their customers.
The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need.
The hotel is well located to explore Kyoto.
We had an evening meal in the hotel which was disappointing. The food was reasonable but nothing special, overal it was poor value for money.
The breakfast offers a good variety of Japanese and Western options.
Overall, a very good hotel but I would not recommend the restaurant for dinner.

Great hotel in an excellent location. Close to action but quite at night to be able to have a peaceful sleep. We stayed here for 7 days and really enjoyed it. Can't comment on the food as we ate outside but we loved the onsen overlooking the inner garden.
