It is also known as "New Pavilion" due to European-esque architecture that built in 1840 by the order of Sultan Abdül Mecid I as an imperial reception and resting place.
It looks like a small Dolmabahçe Palace.
Of all the kiosk attractions inside the Topkapı Palace, this is the most I like - a very relaxing place because of the windy, cold breeze from the sea and of course panoramic view  between the Sea of Marmara and Bosphorus Strait.
Large motifs and reliefs of the outer facade features in the Empire Style.
Inside the kiosk is a spacious area for meeting, impressive, beautiful decoration and all furniture (it was really preserve) was brought all over from France.

The Mecidiye Pavillion is not itself that impressive - it has the gloomy feel of a place where you would host minor dignitaries from out of favour countries. The views from the terrace, however, are some of the best in Istanbul.
