This bakery caught my eye as I was heading to my hotel, which was just around the corner. The next morning, I decided to stop by for breakfast, and I was not disappointed!

I arrived shortly after they opened, so everything was fresh and perfectly set up. Their pastries were absolutely divine—easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly sweet, kind, and welcoming, which made the experience even more delightful.

One thing I really appreciated was the communal table setup. As someone dining alone, it was refreshing to know that sharing a table with others, like fellow solo travelers or diners, didn’t feel awkward at all. It created a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Everything about this place, from the food to the ambiance, was aesthetically pleasing. I only wish I had more time to sample more of their treats, but I’ll definitely be recommending this spot to my friends. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it!

Here we go again…. Bear with me, this is a story of stories, where to start.. Scandinavian minimalistic design gone horribly wrong… yes I know this is a pastry shop, I waited in queue with my partner in crime, we looked around and a couple in front of us is talking to the cashier and ordering, spit talking on all the pastries, I mean this guy was spraying them like no tomorrow, good thing this is not an issue they are just for display.

I mean who would leave a salmon sandwich out in 20 degrees with direct sun light for 2 hours (according to the cashier)….

Happy smile and a new lease on life I order a cafe latte and a pastry, just for kicks and giggles I ask about the counter top saliva filled pastries, why do you have so many for display? He calmly says they are not for display, they are the pastries we are getting.

I asked about the hygiene and if he would eat them, he said yes cause I get them fresh… I stared laughing, you get them fresh I get them saliva filled. He gave me attitude and said if you don’t like it then that’s how it is.

5-stars for store loyalty
1-star for being unnecessary as an human being.

So we ended up leaving.

Oh! Good thing he was wearing black gloves..

Let me start by saying that the pastry I had was delicious and the coffee was also (just normal) good.
The waiter also did his best to accommodate me asap on a shared table. I appreciate that. Now some points to be won if they wanted to have me as a regular:
- Maybe some way to protect the pastries on display, they look good, but a lot is happening around those pastries…could be more hygienic.
- In a place like this I should not have to ask for a glass of water to drink with my double espresso…it goes without saying
- I wish waiters (everywhere) learned that you just don’t ask questions to a customer with a mouth full. I know it’s well intentioned, still: just don’t.
- The cutlery and plates are cute, yet extremely uncomfortable to handle. The plate is just too small to be able to cut/eat without making a mess (and ending with half of my pastry on the table) and the fork wouldn’t just stop turning inside my hand.
- If I ask for a receipt, don’t ask me to take a picture of the screen. It’s your obligation to give receipts.

The price of the coffee is really good. Top!
The pice of the pastry…I think 7€ was overpriced. Was it delicious, yes, have I had better in Amsterdam for less, also yes.

I might come back. We will see…

One word to describe this place: LAYERS! ❤️🥐

Their pastries are amazing, I am still dreaming of the croissant I had.

The interior is very aesthetic and I loved their cutlery 🥰 the seating is on the second floor, and the staff is very kind to show your spot 😌

One of the best pastries in Amsterdam! The shop is very pretty and unusual. Feels a little like a pastry art gallery. We tried the pistachio croissant and the one with vanilla cream and they  were both  delicious and rich in flavours. Also delicious coffee!
