Vi stannade till där under vår första natt i San Sebastián. Medan maten var utsökt, det gjorde oss riktigt sjuk. Som direkt efter att ha ätit det, hade vi båda matförgiftning. Vi hoppade in på detta café för en "snabb" drink innan vi återvände för en "Menu del Dia" på en restaurang runt hörnet, som vi hade grundligt upplevt föregående dag (Garai Taberna). Vi hade ett surt mottagande när vi kom in i La Mera Mera och ombads att sitta vid ett bord i beredskap för att ha vår drinkbeställning tas. Efter en tids väntan, & bevittnande att människor från de externa borden fick sina beställningar tas i baren, gjorde vi vederbörligen samma sak. Det tog en bra 15 minuter för våra 2 Pina Coladas att göras. Inte bara var de en besvikelse som en drink, men också debiteras 11 € . 50 per drink vi kände var löjligt. Det annonserades på väggarna som en ny dryck, men inte där nämndes priset och så för en krusidullfri anläggning priset var allvarligt överdriven. Ärligt talat var vi otroligt besvikna över att ha blivit så lurade!

Rekommenderar starkt maten, dryckerna och atmosfären. Allt är nylagat i deras öppna kök. Det blir fullt så boka vid bordet eller gå runt 7. 30 före rusningen. Älskade det så mycket att vi gick två gånger.

Hemlagad guac & chips var en bra förrätt. Det kommer chunky i en mortel & mortelstöt som du är klar med att blanda till din smak Ett bra utbud av mexikanska öl. Chef, servitör & bar tender var riktigt trevligt, leenden runt. Bra vibbar & massor av lokalbefolkningen. Det blir nu ett av våra regelbundna stopp när vi besöker San Sebastián. Jag saknade mexikansk mat i stan och Mireia gjorde mitt besök minnesvärt! Guacamole med Totopos, tropisk quesadilla, pan bao med camaron, aguachile de res, taco de res mechada. Tack Oier, Gontzal och Mireia! ! Vi kommer snart tillbaka! ! !

Vi har varit här två gånger. Första gången var utmärkt. Service och maten var bra. Prova guacamole och burritos. Pan bao är inte värt ett försök. Andra gången tjänsten var dålig: det tog nästan 1 timme att få maten. Du kan se i köket och kocken gjorde många saker förutom att laga maten. Servitören var mycket stressad.

Om du behöver en förändring mellan pintxos och annan baskisk mat, erbjuder La Mera Mera mycket trevlig mexikansk mat. Det var så bra vi hade lunch här i två dagar i rad. Guacamole kommer garanterat färskt, som det kommer i en kruka där du kan masha ingredienserna med en liten träpinne.

Vi ringde in för en drink lite tidigt att äta. Inuti var traditionell mexikansk bar stil. Personalen var alla mycket vänliga och vi fick köpa med skillnaderna i språk. Gin (Seagrams) och tonic gick ner bra. Jag älskar gamla svartvita bilder och visade ett intresse för fyra som var i hörnet vid köket.
