Gail Bakery is one of my favorite spots, especially for breakfast! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a wonderful place to start the day. Their ham and cheese croissants are a must-try, though on our recent visit, the staff at the till wasn’t aware if more were ready. Shortly after, we saw fresh ones being brought out, which shows how everything is made fresh on-site—such a nice touch!

The chocolate muffin was a perfect sweet treat, and their coffee is always flavorful and smooth. The staff is polite and helpful, though it would be great if they were a bit more informed about availability.

While the space can get a bit crowded during busy times, it’s a testament to how much people love this bakery. Highly recommend Gail for anyone looking for freshly baked treats and a welcoming café vibe!

Tables inside and out. Lots of different baked good. The espresso is decent. He smoked salmon, avocado a d yogurt is a great breakfast treat

Had such a lovely experience at Gail’s —Denise and Iza were both on the coffee machine and absolutely made my day. They were super friendly, efficient, and clearly love what they do. The coffee was perfect (as always), and their energy behind the counter was just contagious. You can tell they’re a great team—thank you both for the great service!

I recently visited GAIL’s Bakery Cowcross, and I have to say, it left me completely impressed and craving more! I've been to several GAIL's locations before, but this one takes the experience to a whole new level. From the moment I walked in, I felt the warmth and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptional—kind, professional, and genuinely happy to be there, which makes such a difference. They were incredibly knowledgeable about everything on offer, explaining the ingredients and baking techniques with such passion that I couldn’t wait to try everything.
The quality of the baked goods here is absolutely outstanding. Each bite tells a story of craftsmanship and dedication. The bread, in particular, is unlike anything I’ve tasted before—organic, with a texture that’s perfectly crusty on the outside and soft, pillowy perfection on the inside. I’m familiar with Gail’s across the capital and know what to expect at each store. We were on our way to the Barbican and stopped off for breakfast. The store was welcoming and there were plenty of pastries to choose from!  There was a bit of a wait in the queue, but we had time to choose!! We stayed in and got a table. The latte was nice, but the seasonal coffee was lukewarm. When milk was added, it cooled it further. The pastries were delicious though!!
