This is my regular stop whenever i’m in Edinburgh. The variety of craft beers they are serving, is the best choice. This place has lovely and cool atmosphere with friendly vibes.
Staff were attentive and good in service. In this freezing weather, they create an amazing, cozy atmosphere. Visiting everyday while staying in Edinburgh.

The Hanging Bat was mentioned in a book we enjoyed reading and therefore we went to try their Mac'n'Cheese. We were not disappointed, the atmosphere was great and the food was amazing! Throughout our stay in Edinburgh we went there multiple times and tried different things from the menu - all tasted great~

Hanging Bat was a chill place for us to recharge during the day. We grabbed some food and drinks, and I was impressed by the beer menu. The food was only average, but vibes inside were great.

The haddock sandwich was amazing, plus the chips are perfect for the vinegar girlies and lads. They are little potato moats where you can get the perfect malt vinegar to potato ratio.

Leans "modern" pub but has that classic vibe while still being vibrant and fun. Staff are young and friendly. Beer selection leans craft and food leans modern gastropub. Spacious with some great music playing. Great stop for a pint and even a proper meal.

Tidigare (tror jag) ett fritt hus, drivs denna plats nu av Northern Monk. Flera av deras öl på fat, plus några gäster. Mestadels kagge offer men lite djupgående. De gör mat, men menyn var mycket oinspirerande och mycket som en barnmeny - inte ingav mycket förtroende för "köket". Så höll mig bara till (goda) öl. Mycket livlig och upptagen, svårt att hitta en plats. Därför var det mycket bullriga verkligen.

Vi hade inte mat, bara drinkar, väldigt dyr och väldigt genomsnittlig bar i behov av lite tlc, ser och luktar trött. Vi hade en pint och 2 “skonare”, och det var £ 20! ! Så 8 pund för pinten och 5 pund. 50 var för de andra! Inte värt det. Killen bakom baren var trevlig nog och mycket vänlig och hjälpsam.

Vi var där för lunch... 3 personer och totalt i puben kan vara 6 personer. Vi väntade väldigt länge på att få vår mat. Menyn är mycket limed IT, service mycket mycket lång och min son beställa en sallad och få en annan... vi höll IT veta IT kommer att vara för lång tid att ändra det! ! ! Hur som helst maten hade NO taste alls... skam för en hamburgare och en smörgås... NO salt NO pepper nothing.

Fin vibe / inredning, med exponerade tegel & mysiga hörn. Jag förväntade mig att det skulle vara lite mer alternativt för ett ställe som heter Hängande fladdermus men det var fortfarande ganska 😅 tyvärr tog maten evigheter att komma fram, men stället var halvtomt. Maten kom efter över en timme, var kall / underkokt, jag nämnde det till personalen men fick ingen ersättning eller återbetalning. så det slutade bara med att jag lämnade den.

Maten var hemsk, beställde 2 hamburgare och bullarna brändes till helvetet och så var biffarna. Öl var trevligt och service bra, men maten var så chockerande dålig. Det var någon som bar kock klädsel, måste ha varit en Halloween kostym. Värsta hamburgaren jag någonsin ätit.

Besökte tidigt söndag kväll. Min vän mådde lite dåligt med allergier och var osäker på om det berodde på fukten från ett exponerat tak eller kanske det var en katt i baren. Annat än detta var det ok

Vilket bra fynd! Poppade in till Hanging Bat på grundval av de goda recensionerna och för att njuta av lite hantverksöl. Så glad att se ett så bra urval av öl att prova! Personalen gav oss det bästa välkomnandet vi har fått i Edinburgh och var verkligen kunniga. Efter några bra rekommendationer från teamet och efter ett smakprov, njöt vi verkligen av NEIPA Otherworld Brewerys "Huntress". Utsökt! Vi har haft en god, ärlig portion av smutsiga pommes frites med våra öl. De serverades vackert varma, med massor av topping och tillräckligt för att dela. Tack för en topp craft öl upplevelse och välkommen! ⭐

Denna plats är utanför Royal Mile och tacksam bort från jäktet i turistnäringen. Vi hade fish and chips och det var utmärkt. Bra utbud av hantverksöl också. Hittade det en mycket avkopplande, lokal pub med god mat, öl och bra service. Om du vill ha en trevlig lokal pub med bra samtal, är detta ett måste.

Vi kom till den hängande fladdermallen på lördag kväll, platsen ser riktigt trevlig ut, personalen är mycket vänlig. Vi har beställt deras signaturburgare som heter "The Hanging Bat Burger" och Veganburgare. Båda hamburgarna har handskurna chips och coleslaw på sidan. Jag kan ärligt säga att jag aldrig äter en bättre hamburgare i Edinburgh under hela resan. Massor av garnering och ost på båda sidor av bulle. Veganburgeren är också väldigt trevlig, och vad som var viktigt för min fru, de serverar verkligen vegansk burger i veganbulle (vi föll två gånger på andra platser). Jag såg också annan mat och det ser bra ut. Vi kommer säkert tillbaka hit nästa gång. Tack killar Leon och Camila

Vi åkte till ett par öl med våra vänner på en fredagskväll. Baren hade en fin surr men du kan fortfarande sitta och prata! Personalen bakom baren var supervänlig och det finns ett fantastiskt utbud av öl och massor av lokala öl också vilket är fantastiskt!

Härlig liten dold pärla undangömt på en upptagen gata. Mysiga sittplatser nedervåningen med ljus och massor av bekväma sittplatser. Stort, omfattande urval av drycker. En härlig kväll som gömmer sig för det skotska vädret som tillbringades här.

Tillbringa några timmar på denna pub och det var fantastiskt. Så många hantverk Ales att välja mellan. Ville stanna längre men hade reservationer någon annanstans. Skulle rekommenderas starkt till alla hantverkareälskare.

För alla som gillar ett hantverk ale (eller någon som vill prova det för första gången) är denna plats ett måste. Stor personal bakom baren som känner till sina saker när det gäller hantverksöl; de är glada att ge dig ett "prov innan du köper" prov om du inte är säker på något på öl-menyn. Gick här 2 nätter i rad och var förvånad över hur många öl som bytte under de två dagarna - fortsätt med det goda arbetet killar - hantverk öl på sitt bästa.

Platsen själv är underbar och har ett bra urval av hantverk öl. Dessa serveras dock i 2/3 av en pint som ursprungligen verkar vara rimligt prissatta men är faktiskt lika dyra som det övervärderade valet vid Brewdog bara upp vägen. Vi hade ett bord bokat för 14 för mat men när en annan mindre bokning kom in vi pressades obehagligt runt ett stort bord i en mycket "ta det eller lämna det" mode. Damen som gjorde det här var väldigt oförskämd vilket var utan tvekan till det faktum att hon inte hade mycket sömn natten innan (hörde henne nämna detta tidigare). Maten var mycket grundläggande med så sidor och var dyr för vad du fick. Jag kommer inte att rusa tillbaka.

6 fat öl, 7 keg öl, bra mat. Jag försökte Stigberets Pilsner och Pilot blek öl, båda tjänstgjorde i 2/3 pint skonare. Bar snacks inkluderar läckra chili halloumi med mint dip, mozzarella pinnar och revben med en BBQ Irn Bru glasyr. Möt den charmiga kocken Anna, som berättade att hon lagar mat "med mitt hjärta". Dessa människor tar mat och dryck på allvar och gör sitt yttersta för att ta hand om sina kunder. De gamla lädersofforna är också bra. Försök!
