Undoubtedly good food. Fresh ingredients and the best cuts of meat. The beef dish was by far the best, great cuts. The strawberry sweet & sour pork wasn’t bad, sauce was a little strong. The fried rice had good ingredients but was a little dry. All of it was really good, just minor criticisms. The main problem is the price and I assume that’s why it’s been rated low on Google. Beef dish was $350, $200 for fried rice. Vegetable dishes are $150 a plate. Very over priced for what you get.

Quite disappointing indeed. We came here because the place had Michelin recommendations for many years, but the food did not live up to our expectations. Everything was just “okay”, and it baffles me that the price range is almost 1.5x the normal price of restaurants of the same tier. The staff there were very nice and friendly, but the conditions are cramped and the food quality did not live up to the price point.

Worth looking up this spot! Great meal!

We went to Shek Kee Kitchen on our first night in HK, after friends had recommended their food. No fuss. No frills.  Service is HK style, actually pretty decent. They were busy.  We went around 5:30pm and got a table, ordered a few known dishes.  We really wanted to try their “crispy chicken” but alas… it requires a reservation ahead of time.

A family of four, with 2 hungry teens… so we got Chinese broccoli with beef, sautéed beancurd ong-choy (in season!), salt & pepper squid, steamed eggs with minced pork and a steamed half chicken in broth. Wiped it all clean.

Everything was delicious, high wok-hay, well-seasoned and just right… which we know it’s missing in a lot of Chinese places at home.. sadly even in some good restaurants.  A little pricier than your average dinners but I think the taste is worth it.

As recommended by friend, we tried out here & many dishes we had were off menu. Some were average but some were stunning like pan fried pig’s stomach tips which was very fresh & tender, crab meat winter melon thick soup which was so much umami flavour but yet refreshing.
Set lunch was at best average but not expensive.

After 16 days spent in HK trying so many Michelin-recommended places, this was hands down the very best. Perfectly executed dishes, no pretensions, excellent service and very friendly staff. Can also have half portions ! We will be back :))
