The official closing time is 9:30 PM. We arrived at 8:30 PM and were told that they no longer serve tables, only takeaway was available. This is understandable, as it’s such a popular place. We got our takeaway in a minute. Although we didn’t have the chance to dine in, we could see that the decor is great, with tons of Michelin certificates displayed on the wall. The service was decent by Hong Kong standards. The duck is really greasy, which is what makes it unique and tasty. I had a similar roast duck at a restaurant two blocks away yesterday, but the ducks here are in a league of their own. It’s clear that this one is better.

Don’t think the goose and food is worth the hype.

Kam’s roast goose has received a Michelin star for 10+ years, and we had to wait for about 50 minutes upon getting there at opening time. I recommend taking number and then visiting a nearby restaurant/cafe in the interim.

Their iconic dish - the roasted goose - is extremely oily and quite chewy without boasting any exceptional flavour. While I haven’t had roasted goose anywhere else so I can’t compare, the goose we had is far inferior to roast duck I have had in many places and is not worth the extra cost.

The crispy skin (crackling) pork was quite crispy, and the cucumber side dish was nice, but neither of these were exceptional in anyway either. Service was very quick.

In summary, save yourself the time and eat roast duck at any other restaurant instead for a better experience.

Each dish was perfectly prepared, with bold flavors and excellent textures. The goose, in particular, lived up to its legendary reputation—succulent, flavorful, and a must-try.

Waiting Time:
Be prepared to wait—sometimes up to three hours, especially during peak times. If you visit late in the day, you may find that everything except the goose has sold out. Planning ahead and arriving early is essential to enjoy the full menu.

Final Thoughts:
Despite the long wait, Kam’s Roast Goose is well worth it for the outstanding food. The quality of the dishes justifies its popularity, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience some of the best roast meats in Hong Kong. Patience pays off here!

Best place to get goose in HK. This place came highly recommended from friends and it didn’t disappoint. Michelin star guide multiple years in a row. You have to wait outside for a table but the queue moves quickly, we waited around 45-50 mins (we were 23rd in line!) and you can see the numbers going down on a digital screen. Once inside you get served quickly, and the food comes out quite quickly after that too. Highly recommended half goose, noodle side dish, and broiled veggies.
