The rafting is superb. The operator managed the package very well. I like all the crews, they are very friendly and helpful. The raftman was very nice. However the warung at the rest point is very expensive. You d better bring your own drink. I came here with my students and they could experience diffrent thing to enrich their knowledge about tourism product. Overall the service of Bali Bintang is excellent and highly recommended for you.

Loved this tour. Well priced and a well organised tour. The river is beautiful, stunning scenes everywhere you look.
The river rafting was fun, just the right amount of rapids for tourists rafting for there first time.
Our guide was great.
It must be said, there are many stairs down to the river and also back up after finishing.

Totally recommend this place. The people who serve there are nice and super helpful. The guides are caring, know what they are doing and accomodate to our skill level and needs. Because of this, the rafting was super enjoyable and fun. Most importantly, their showers and bathrooms are clean. If you need to shower. Rafting is a must do is Bali and this is where you should do it!

If you enjoy rafting, this is the place. We booked a driver that took us here and a few other places afterwards. Buffet was served after rafting adventure. Loved sitting and watching the locals weed the rice fields.

First of all, before you even think of going on this trip, you'd better be in PEAK PHYSICAL CONDITION.   I've gone rafting before on the Delaware River several times.  Typically your car/driver/bus takes you up river to the start point and then you make your way to the end point downriver - where your driver will be waiting for you.

HERE, however, like the Tegenungan waterfall, your driver takes you to the top, you need to make your way down, and then you need to make your way back up.

If you're a person who regularly hikes, regularly moutain climbs and regularly walks or runs miles without getting winded, you'll be ok.  If you are overweight, smoke, have athsma or any physical impairment, FORGET IT.

The hike down is treacherous.  only 1/5th of it has guardrails and the rocks can be steep - especially if you haven't got the right kind of supportive shoes.  Most people wear flip flops or water shoes because they'll be in the rafts and their feet will get wet.  How that translates into hiking up rocks depends on you.  As far as I can tell, you need to make your way about 400 feet and that's after walking through the back of rice patties to get to the down-trail.

The Rafting itself is fun.  The guide we had was cool, friendly and I had to do minimal paddling as he took care to dislodge us each time we stopped on a rock.  By comparison, when I've gone on the Delaware, I had to paddle myself and get out to dislodge myself if the raft was stuck. There are minimal rapids and there are a few warung stops where you can buy drinks and chips.  The exact same choices you've seen since you got here. Your raftsman will probably expect you to buy him something as a tip - and he'll probably pick the most expensive (a beer).  I didn't mind too much, but I take notice.

Along the way, you'll see amazing stone carvings,   beautiful vistas,  overlooking villas, reptiles making their way around and several waterfalls where you can stop for photos.

But then comes the up-climb.  And that ain't fun at all.  The same distance you came down, you need to get back up.  Jagged rocks,  uneven steps, lack of handrails...  Again:  if you're in peak human physical condition, you'll be fine.  If you have any ailments whatsoever, or have been fatigued in any way,  it's enough stress to take some of us out.

At the end of the trip, there's a shower area where you are given a towel, soap and shampoo. I took advantage and washed thoroughly as I was sweating bullets.  According to my applewatch, I'd climbed more than 30 stories, taken over 9000 steps and walked more than 2 miles in total. The elevation changed by at least 800 feet.

If you choose to do this activity, plan well.  It cost me $150 US for a 2 person boat - the 3rd occupant being the guide.

Originally I was disappointed he had to come with us as I was used to going alone. But given the difficulties along the way, he was obligatory.
